I've missed everyone! Been having some rough times

Hi all, thought I would drop in and say hi. Haven't been on in a while, been dealing with a series of one rough thing after another.

Last time I logged on was to say I was having relationship problems and problems with my eyes. The relationship is ironing itself out and we seem to be moving forward and things are going pretty good (He's getting enrolled in the same college I am attending, been steady looking for a job and spending weekends with his kids, he has taken to spending nights here which is something he wasn't doing before, and referring to my house as home (no, he's not living here, but when we are somewhere together, he says let's go home.. meaning my house.. and no partying! He has even taken care of some past problems he had and getting his license back after it being suspended.) I'm still being cautious where the relationship is concerned and just taking one day at a time. I'm sure we'll have some bumpy spots along the way, no relationship is perfect.... but we'll see....just keeping an eye open and not being blind to anything.. and I think he realizes that I forgave him for some pretty major things right in the beginning of our relationship and he's not going to get that lucky again.

the eye is the same, waiting to see the doc next visit to see if they will start the chemo drugs.

The other day I was driving back from the video store with Sam and we were coming off one street and about to get on the highway.. I hit the gas, we heard a big noise and suddenly my steering wheel was going around really fast like in a video game or something.. he's telling me  "turn, turn"... I'm telling him I can't and then realize I don't have any brakes either. We came to a stop on the curb with the car across two lanes of traffic on one of the busiest intersections here. We get to looking and the back part of my motor was on the ground!!! We both stood there shaking our heads and kind of shaky knowing that we had God to thank that things worked out the way they did. We were going to get on the highway at a different point but had made a side trip to the video store... so, less than 50 feet from getting on what is called the S curves here.. nothing but curves and cement walls and crazy rude drivers.. had it not been for our little detour and the car breaking down where it did, we would have been on the highway going at least 60 when that happened and had no steering or brakes to stop us, only the many cement walls and 1:00 traffic on a weekday!

We had the car flat bedded back to my house, the plan being to pull out my other vehicle before they dropped the car in the driveway until my dad can fix it, only to have that vehicle not start and here I sat with both of them dead!!!! I finally got my van out by going through all the weeds and crap at the back of my property and came cruising out into the parking lot behind my house much to everyone's surprise who was in the parking lot!

The fur kids are doing fine, crazy as ever. Gracie is chewing her fur off again since she has had to be crated again when I go to work... she was getting into too much stuff. She's such a little sweetheart, sometimes too enthusiastic about being lovey dovey and we're working on that since she has a horrible habit of coming to greet me when she realizes I am awake in the morning by walking up to me on the bed and slapping her front paw right on my lip! She constantly is slapping that paw on people and I am having a rough time getting her to stop.. I can tell her sit nice and she will, but as soon as someone touches her she wants to return the favor.

Boss is my good boy!! He is doing so good and listening so much better. I just love my poop face brown dog!! I always tell him he's my faithful man I can always count on no matter what.

The two of them together are trouble. The latest thing being I looked out the back slider one morning and I can see someone standing on top of a car yelling and I notice my dogs are nowhere to be seen in the back yard... they had found a way out the flimsy excuse i have for a fence back there and were running around the parking lot terrorizing people.. they weren't being mean, but of course people see them and automatically assume the worst.

Okay, I 've babbled and babbled now.. hope you all are doing well.. I hope to be signing on more often as I get settled into new routines and get myself organized and back on track...blessing to all

I've been thinking about you trishanne and wondering how you were. Thanks for giving us an update!

Your car escapade is the kind of thing that I am always afraid is going to happen! EYOW! I'm so glad you made that side trip, it probably saved your lives!

Sofia does the paw scratch/slash thing, too. But she grew out of it. Keep taking her paw and handing it back to her and saying "no no" or whatever works for you. When she was little she was pretty dangerous! She'd bounce up into your lap (being a Nardstepper, of course) and then be all happy happy joy joy and RAKE her claws across your face. THEN she'd lick you. [&:]

She also used to grab my arm when I was driving. I just kept telling her no and eventually she got that she wasn't going to get attention from me while I was driving! Sing her songs, yes, let her drag my hand off the wheel, no.

You sound like you have some gumption going for you, getting your vehicle situation sorted out like that!

I hope things stay steady for at least a little while and that GOOD things start to happen!

Hi!!  I was glad to see an update. . .I was wondering what happened.

It's funny, I recently had a "no brakes" episode myself.  I had gone to lunch which for me is 8:30 at night, my car was fine.  I got back in a few hours later to go home, NO brakes!  Freaked me right out!  Luckily, because it was so late, I didn't have any other traffic to make matters even worse.

    Keep in touch!!

I was wondering where you've been.

I am very familiar with those "S" curves where you're at and man, am I glad you didn't end up in a worse situation than you did.

I just posted on your thread about your missing kitties.  I hope they come home soon.  And that Gracie settles down a bit.
