I'm not sure if this is the right folder, but I'm hoping someone can help me. My dog got sick (throwing up and diarrhea) all over a good portion of my carpet earlier today. Thankfully, the dog now seems to be feeling better, and the vet seems to think there's nothing to worry about.
However, I'm still left with some pretty heavy duty clean up to deal with. I wiped everything up as best I could and saturated everything with Nature's Miracle (the economy size with the battery operated sprayer gun). But the house still smells pretty bad (did I mention she is a big dog? I don't think I've ever seen this much poop come out of one dog).
I'm having Steam Master come tomorrow to clean the carpets professionally, since clearly this requires a professional. They offer a "pet treatment" that more than doubles the cost of the cleaning, and they say "there's no guarantee that it works, though we've had positive feedback from a lot of our clients." Then again, since they're trying to sell it, I don't imagine they'd say that they haven't had positive feedback. : )
If it works, I'd be okay spending the money, but it's a lot of money for something that they say may or may not actually work, and no one I talked to seemed to know what was in the treatment, and whether it's any different from things I can buy for cheap in the pet store or Target.
Does anyone know if the professional carpet cleaners' "pet treatments" work, or if they're any better than Nature's Miracle, or Resolve, or any of the treatments you can buy in a pet store? Is having them shampoo the carpet enough? Any other suggestions? She managed to "drip" all over a fairly big area, which makes spot treating tougher, and the smell is awful (I can't even air out the room because it's raining out).
Any suggestions cheerfully welcomed!
Thank you!
Jan
