Hello, I guess you are just trying to get this site started.

    Where are you?

I don't mush. It takes too much time and energy. One dog is plenty for me. [:D] I'm hoping to skijore with my dog if I can teach her not to drag me into every squirrel tree in the world...[8|]

However I know a bit about mushing, can't avoid it here in Sled Dog Capital of the World!

    check out:http://www.ramybrooks.com (my boyfiend's nephew)

And last, but not least, including a small quicktime movie of a musher coming into the Nordale Checkpoint, my Yukon Quest page:http://www.celticandmore.com/northernniche/yukonquest.html

Well, the site was launched a couple of days ago. Thats great that you skijor. On our newsletter we will be having a skijor section. Aliy Zirkle is probably also going to do a monthly column on her kennel. It is all very exciting. If you know a bit about dog sledding, make sure to sign up for the message boards, and the newsletter.

    Please answer this one:

    Where ARE YOU??

There are so few on this board from Alaska! Only one other that I know of, in Los Anchorage...that person barely posts....

No, i am from the Sierra Nevadas. I wish I was from Alaska. So are you going to join the forums?

I do know a ton about Alaska though.

Heh, you don't know Alaska until you move here. [;)] Visit here in the winter! Come and see the Yukon Quest. [:D]

You are in California? Northern or Southern? Chico? Redding? Tahoe? Susanville? Or southern?? It bugs me when people won't just say where they are from. I mean, I've been on the internet since BEFORE there was an internet and I don't hide where I'm from. No problems. Honestly, that whole paranoia thing is totally overrated. Just don't give out personal information, like phone numbers. Just common sense.

I don't know if I'll join the forum or not. We'll see if I have time, I'm already on two dog forums and don't mush so.......

So do you mush? Do you have a team?

Do you have pet dogs? We'd love to see pictures! [;)]

I actually live in a small town called Colfax near Lake Tahoe.

I am working on my team right now. Hopefully I will get it going.

So when is the best time to visit Alaska? I think we are coming up in a year or two

Well, if you know any mushers, could you please tell them about SledDoggin.com? That would help me a lot!

One summer I worked at a resort near Silver Lake. It's been so long I can't remember the name of the lake! But it's the next one closer to Tahoe from Silver Lake. LOL Jeez, it was over 20 years ago...

I'll tell folks if I run into them in town. I don't correspond with any. But you might go to some of the sites I posted and post a notice on their boards if it seems appropriate.

Best time to visit Alaska depends on what you want to do. Most people come during the summer to see wildlife. Japanese tourists come in the early Spring to see Northern Lights. They believe a baby conceived under the lights is more blessed.

If you want to snow machine, ski, or mush, Feb. and March are good months. If you want to fish, right now is great. The salmon are running. [:D]

What sites do you post at?

    Alaska sounds so great.

Neat!  Dodger and I skijored last year, he pulls the taboggan with firewoon on it and in the summer he pulls the bike trailer...  He isn't exactly the right breed but don't tell him that! I probably won't ever be able to afford to truly sled but I've enjoyed poking around your site!

All dogs can dog sled! Most dogs want to run, don't they? If you want to learn more, please join the message boards. It needs members badly. It is a new message board. It may look uniteresting, but that because it is just starting out. Be sure to join!
