Hooray for Beardies!
I've got 5 of them here right now. 3 of my own, and 2 that i'm keeping for friends who are at school. 1 was only supposed to stay for a month, but he's been here for 2 now, so I'm thinking I should find a place to set him and take him out of brumation. Another of the dragons is a rescue. I took him from a girl I used to work with, whose cats were harrasing him.
I've also had a turtle, although I don't know what type he was. My grandparents had a RES who I was supposed to inherit, but he died at the age of about 50. My sister also had an RES before. It feels weird that there is no turtle in the family anymore honestly. 2 summers ago, I ended up with an RES for a few days. Someone I worked with found her. The nature center told them to put her back where they found her (in the middle of a drive way). She knew that was a bad idea, but then she brought her in to work and put her in with the RES there. The two of them fought (duh, the tank was too small for one, let alone two adult RES). It ended up that I took the turtle, because I was the only one who knew anything about turtles. I was supposed to go drop it off somewhere, but I couldn't just dump it anywhere, so the turtle came home with me for the night. I would have kept it, but I couldn't properly keep a turtle, so I let him go in ear the Nature Center where there were other RES. They're not native to the area, but quite a few have been dumped here, since there is a group living in the Nature Center, and my friend found one in the park once.
I had a Rankin's dragon, who was pretty weakly. I was surprised he lived as long as he did. I almost got a Frilled Dragon instead of him, and i'll probably get one someday.
I'd also like a corn snake, which my dad would let me get, but my mom says no, so i'll have to wait for that.
