What is going ON in this state??

I just checked my local tv station site for weather. We have a chance of some rain over night, with lows in the upper 60's to 70. I won't know what to do with myself. But they promise it will warm back up next week. We just have to get through August. September usually cracks the heat a bit. The days will imperceptibly begin to get shorter, triggering Shadow to start growing undercoat.

Oh man I hear you! I am in Bakersfield and it is miserable here! Today in the car the thermometer read 117 and there were big fat raindrops hitting the windshield! UGH! Are you guys getting the thunderstorms up north like we are here?

I think I saw 3 drops of rain on my windshield yesterday....and based on past summers, that'll be about all we see till Oct. or Nov.  I used to think that Bakersfield/Fresno were miserable in the summer, but I think Sacto is about the same now.  I guess we're all feeling pretty crummy these days.  Just came back from dinner and it registered 102 degrees and it's almost 8:00 PM.

Good god.. 114 with humidity.. I think I'd be heading for a vacation in Antartica. The entire rest country is hotter than South Florida, this is one for Guiness Book of World Records!

I heard something yesterday that made me feel a little cooler. Phoenix, Az was at 119 yesterday. That makes our 105 F seem a little cooler. But it still felt dang hot. Then I get into my house with the recently repaired ac and it's between 72 and 75. Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes ...

I don't think the weather forecasters should get paid this week...they keep saying "tomorrow will be cooler,"  "chance of afternoon storms."  All it does is get hotter and drier.  The lawn is brown, as we can't water, nobody can breathe outside.  It is crazy...

Was only 89 here yesterdazy (just out of Corpus Chrisit, Texas) but we didn't have much a sea breeze to really cool things down.  Suppose to hit 93 today and then by Monday we are suppose to have some showers and drop the temp back into upper 80's for a few days.

heat doesn't bother me at all--Have not run the AC in about 9 years.  Our older son was still at home, worked outside and was having problems because of working in heat and coming into cool (has had bronchitis and pneumoania a couple of times) and he was always coughing and feeling not well.  Didn't run the AC in his truck.  Well, at first it was was ROUGH, but after a while I got use to it and now can go fishing at 2:00 in the Afternoon on a 99 degree August day and it doesn't bother me at all.  But I get cold in AC places and last night on the gambling boat I had to sit at my slot machine wrapped in blanket.

Sylvia, a few  years back the valley had a really bizarre heat wave (no humidity, thank God) but the temps ranged from 110 - 115 for about 2 straight weeks. People were ready to just lie down and die somewhere.[:o] It was unbelieveable.

Mother Nature must be going through "manypaws" and it's making her a little flaky ... wouldn't you think she could spread some of this stuff around?  A little sun for NY, a little cool wet stuff for the west?

Well, at 1:30 a.m. it was 78 degrees. At 6 a.m., it was 78 degrees and overcast. It is soooo humid[:'(], but under 90 degrees at 1:30 p.m. I GUESS this is better!
