Frenchie people.... health question

    Frenchie people.... health question

I am not jumping to any conclusions, because the adopter-outers probably won't even like me.... (I don't fit their criteria), but I emailed someone today about a French Bulldog they are re-homing... (see "Cheating on your dog" below).

Anyway, I haven't heard back from them yet, but just in case....

They stated in their ad that the dog has a "manageable medical issue."  I don't know what it is (although I can imagine, based on my research: food allergy? skin condition? eye problem? respiratory? hips? etc....).  She is a "young" dog (don't know how old yet.)

Based on this knowledge, what are the chances that she will develop MORE health problems down the road?

Is it generally that a dog that starts young gets progressively worse with different probs, they are prone to it?

I know im cutting it short on the info, and therefore this question may be hard to answer, but Im just looking for a general idea.

    Thanks!

I would want to know more about the dog being adopted out. I'm sure you will find that info out of they do reply. Frenchies will take over your house...you APBT will be second in comand...count on it!

Let me know if I can answer any questions regarding who your breeder/owner is and what health issues there might be

    Thanks Jaime (spelled right??)

I was hoping you would come along and help me out.

I figured it would be hard to answer the question without sufficient info...

I am anxiously awaiting their response.  I inquired about a lot of things: health, temperament, age, origins (byb, reputable breeder, import, rescue, etc.).  We will see what they say, and Ill post more when I know more!

Agreed - hard to know.  When I read "manageable medical issues", I immediately think the dog is medicated for something chronic (like hypothyroidism that's common in Dobes), or has digestion issues.... but who knows what they mean.
Good luck - Frenchies are incredible!  The ones I've known are little spitfires of joyfulness and comedic talent.  Big and bold in a little bat-eared body.  Not afraid to jump up and nip the nose of my Dobes!
