adorable pup....can't imagine you'd have too hard of a time finding him a home - one that'll not let him disappear

O!  He is adorable!  He def looks quite young and soooooo sweet looking!!  I want him... I wish I was in your area and that my DH would allow it.  He looks so happy chewing that bone... what a lucky guy.  Puppies have a lot to learn lol, Im in that puppy proof stage too as Bailey thinks anything within her reach is fair game[:)].  I "secretly" hope you keep him!!

After his vet visit this afternoon I am taking him to go see the lady at the Golden Retriever rescue... She breeds goldens too and she said she would like to get a good look at him.  Said goldens have a different bone structure than labs so it should be easier to tell.  Maybe hes a mix between the two  [:)]  Hes sooo sweet and happy...  Was thinking about calling him Happy... but shhhh dont tell my folks... mom says as soon as i name him she knows hes not going anywhere.  But he is cause I know I cant afford another big dog.  The vet bills alone for the 4 animals i have now are kinda crazy some years... but when everybody is well its great!!!

But I like the idea of him going thru a rescue because they screen their animals and makes sure they get spayed or neutured.  and they dont go to just anybody...  So we will see...

Hope you guys have a great weekend...  Hopefully my house will still be in one pc  [:)]

Yes - bless you and thank you for doing this.  I don't think it'll be long before someone falls in love with him (good thing I'm not closer [:)]).  Hopefully we'll get to see more pictures though.

HI all.. Well Rylie (yes i named him  [;)]) got accepted into the Golden Retriever Rescue... I took him by there and Mary says he is 100% Golden Retriever... I am fostering him until she gets back from vacation and he gets a little more meat on his bones.  The vet says he was infested with Hookworms and was surprised he hadnt bled out yet they were that bad.  My boys are finally settling down some.   Only rough housing with the pup at night now but its getting better.  Casey isnt barking at him as much...  I just hope when Mary comes back I can give him up... He kinda grows on ya...

How can i get Coal (my lab) to stop messing with the pup?  Hes a little too rough.. granted sometimes the pup starts it by barking at him or  running up to him and trying to play... but Coal takes his big paw and puts it on the pups back and knocks him over...  nips at his neck.  I know hes trying to show who is dominate.  but how long should this be going on.  I dont want to fuss too much at Coal for doing it but he just wont leave him alone... and the past 2 days it only happens at night.  all day saturday when it was so hot we stayed inside and all three dogs slept on the floor within 2 feet of each other...  and then late afternoon it starts up again.   I try not to give the pup too much attention cause i know Coal is jealous...

    thanks!
    thanks for all your help!

Looks like a Golden to me.  Bless you for taking him in, even temporarily . In regards to Coal and pup, supervise them, but do NOT intervene unless you truly feel in your gut it is going to get Nasty.

You should see my GSD and my brother's Labrador play.  There is a LOT of "Roaring" going on, but they're just talkers when they playfighting.  Strauss even "munches" on Buddy';s neck and leads him around the yard.

If Coal starts playing to rouigh with the puppy, the pup will squeal so Coal will let go.  They're rarely hurt, iit's just like kids yelling "Ow! Cut it out! That's too rough!"  ANd if the puppy is initiating play, chances are he likes to play more roughly than other dogs would

Oh its realy funny when they do rough house Casey will be sitting there watching and if i tell Coal to stop casey barks... Like a little mother hen...  I dont know if hes barking at the pup or Coal...  and yesterday he ran into the middle of it and barked at the puppy...  but the barking has really calmed down on his side.  just kinda growls at the pup when he comes to close to his bone or food.  Used to be he couldnt even come near casey without him barking.  And even Coal growls when the pup comes to close to his bone but lets him eat his food... its too funny...

I guess i just get nervous when my 97lb lab takes a swipe at a 28lb puppy.   and the pup does stand up for himself sometimes... he will turn around and try to bite coal.

robinsegg, you are wonderful for saving that poor baby.  It is very hard to imagine how someone could "throw away" such a cute dog.
My dog was a stray, too.  He just showed up at a friend's house one day, and the friend fed him for a week, but then had to give him up.  He already had seven dogs!  Sparky was pretty wild at first, but he's calmed down a lot and is a great friend and watchdog.
