Is it worth the drive?

So I managed to find a Dog park finaly. Problem is its about an 1 to1 1/2 hour drive. I dont know why im so set on bringing him to a dog park. I guess becuase we dont have a fenced in back yard and he's stuck on a leash all the time. That and he loves to play with other dogs. So basicaly what im asking is if anyone thinks the drive is worth it for him to have a fun day? I've never been to one before.

I definitely would! I drive 45 minutes so my dog can run in a sprinkler

The bottom one looks like a smaller park while the other looks like it would be massive space. The only thing i'd be worried about is come time to leave he wouldnt listen and come lol. I guess theres going to be another park opening up a little closer in another city. But its still in teh works. They think it will be done by christmas time.

I drive once a week about an houre and a half just to take Gizzy to her one houre obedence class. It's totaly worth every minet of it[

] If your dog enjoys dog park and thats the closes one the I don't see why not make a day of it.

I'd go too - make a day of it and find somewhere else to go when you leave the park. As for getting him to come, it's not a problem if he's good and tired. I can always tell when Max is tired. He drops down on the grass and pants. [] At that point, it's no problem slipping his leash back on and walking him to the gate. Have fun!

If Willow got along with other dogs I'd definately take the ride. She'd love it between the ride and the park. I think it will be really fun, take some snacks and water and have a ball. Oh, makes me wish she got along.[&:]

Make a day of it! We take a cooler with us in the car so that when Gracie gets done at the park, we go out of the dog park to another area and have a picnic. Then Gracie gets to run around in the dog park more. We will frequently spend 3 hours at the park. After the we usually take her to PetSmart or something to get a toy or treats.

When you go to the dog park make sure you bring a towel, poop bags, and leash. Some people even bring shampoo to bathe their dog before leaving the park. Don't bring treats or human food inside the park, you'll be swarmed by dogs!

Its DEFINETLY worth it. We drove and 1 and a half to the dog beach last week. We had a great time and so did Bruno. So go for it.[

The trick to that is to call your dog several times during your stay at the park. Reward the bejeezus out of him when he comes to you. Do this at least 3 times every visit, so that he doesn't know that when you're calling him it's time to leave.

] I love taking my poms to the park. But, my park is just a neighborhood away. So it takes about 5 min lol. Well, its not really a dog park but they allow dogs. Theres a small area where the dogs can be let go and can run around by the small lake. [

] Its just enough to make Kero and Luna happy. So i say it is, we take them whenver we can!

Ok so I happened to post a blog on one of my sites and someone from the area happened to read it. I was talking about the dog parks and they told me of one that is maybe 15-20 mins away in the town right outside my base. I managed to get directions and im on my out to find it. They said its about 6 acres with a dbl fence for entering with doo doo bags and a water fountain. Im thrilled now. My husband told me that drive for other ones would have been 1 to 1 1/2 hours on a good day with no traffic so I was a little hesatant about that. So hopefully I find it alright. If so then im taking Buster tomorow after I get off work. Today its been rainy and such and he's not a lover of rain lol.
