I remember when I was a kid I was sitting out on a private dock throwing rocks into the lake. All of a sudden a big black lab came flying down the hill and out to the edge of the dock. She flung herself into the lake and dove 4 1/2' down to pick up the rock!!!** Then she swam with it to the shore, ran back to me at the dock, dropped it next to me and ran back to the shore-side part of the dock. She looked all excited and anticipatory, so I threw the rock back in the water. She again ran to the edge and flung herself in the lake. We must have done that for half an hour. Then one time she brought back the rock, turned around and left. I have no idea where she came from or where she went. But I very clearly remember having a blast throwing rocks for this goofy lab. [
