Ella's new collars, I don't have them yet

but the lady who made them sent me pictures.
[linkhttp://www.collarmania.com]Collar Mania, folks![/link] I'm telling you. Good stuff.

Yes, I like super girly 70's collars. They're 2" collars, and actually have the ultra suede lining.

    and

I cannot wait to get them!
I get excited when I get new collars for Ella.

Rebecca...those are beautiful collars and are going to look fantastic on miss fitzgerald!

Some day i am going to order through collar mania...but for now I have been trying to give my business to the lady who made my dog jammies. i just put in an order for matching playful monkey collars so it will be a little while before i order more...i think that these would be great for pru for the spring though!

    Hey nice collars......[:)]

oooo, pretty. Just out of curiosity, why would you want a collar that is so thick?

Ella's a pit bull and I find her more manageable in a thicker collar for some reason.
Plus, they're martingales which will be even nicer. Also, I think the thicker ones just look better on her because she has a thicker, more powerful neck and you can see the design on them better, as well.[:D]

We use a 2 inch thick martingale on my step kids pit mix and this has been the best type of collar for her. She pulls far less and isn't able to slip out of it like she did with others.  I love the thick martingales and that is all I use for my greyhounds...sighthounds in general need martingales (otherwise they can back out of their collars because their heads are so skinny)  but I like the fit and look better on the ones that are at least 1 1/2 inches.

Shelly, I also think it's because our dogs have a longer neck. Yours especially look good in the thicker collars because of the long, elegant neck of the greyhound[;)]

Yep...I agree! the picture below shows JJ in a 1 inch one and it looks so tiny on his neck...I never use that one, just for times when I know he is going to get really dirty or something...

aw, he's such a sleeping prince in that photo!
Yeah, I think the shorter collars take some of the length off their necks. That's how it is with Ella. I have her in a one inch now because her original collar mania collar (wasn't lined with suede like I had originally thought) started rubbing a sore on her neck that is now being treated with antibiotics. Poor pitties and their sensitive skin.

Intersting, I've never really thought about putting my dogs in a thicker collar but maybe someday I'll try one on them and see how it works. I do though LOVE my martingale that I bought for my foster dog, actually I've always called them "restriced choke collar" but anyhow, charlie-girl was a master as slipping out of her collars so I bought her one of these and it works great for both of us!!! You need to post pictures when Ella gets her new collars so we can all say how pretty she is[:D]
