    Tuesday July 8 Chat

Can it be that there has been no chat since last Tuesday?  Or maybe I just didn't see anything more current in the maze of new threads.

Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend.  I kept thinking of Doug and his family, so I had a sad feeling lingering below everything else.  So, so tragic.

We've had some non-Oregon-like HOT days recently -- 90's yesterday, expected the same today.  I hate to complain about blue skies and sun, but I am not a happy camper in those temps.

I don't have anything exciting to report today, but I do have a new photo of Ruby.  I must give credit to the photographer, Terri Jacobson.  She is an amazing pet photographer, and she was at a recent fundraising event for a local shelter.  For a donation, she took a photo that she emailed with permission to share and post on Facebook, etc.  This is the closest thing to FB I use, so here it is:

Love this picture of Ruby! :)

I had to sign in just so I could say OMG, that's a great picture of Ruby!

What an awesome picture of Ruby!  Ruby orange is definitely your color.

I cant get Doug 's news out of my mind either, my heart hurts for them.

I have been nursing Hot Shot 's foot and  thanks to some tips from Callie it is finally beginning to show some big improvement.

We have hit the 90 degree mark in NWA, lol, sounds kinda funny to say that in July. Usually we are already nearing triple digits by now but we have had some amazing weather.  Last Thursday, it got down to 55 totally unheard of.

My "Queen of the Night"  bloomed last night, it is so beautiful to watch.  I do have a bit of trouble staying up late enough for  the whole  blooming cycle.  It reminds me of how awesome nature can be and such a small thing gives us such joy.

    Have a good evening all

I finally waited long enough for the new "don't you want to be a member" box to appear to I could click on it and then sign in. I think my Internet is just too slow for the site, but it's all that's available.

My heart just aches for Doug and Mrs. Doug. I was thinking about his grandchildren today, too. How do you explain this to little ones?

Ruby's picture--WOW--that is gorgeous!  Made me smile :-)

I'm glad Hot's foot is getting better.

Today, Ronnie went to school  (read obedience classes) for the first time--I am trying private lessons to start just because of the ferry schedule. He did well and I like the trainer a lot. Being my obsessive self, I typed up a page of notes about him for her :-) Turns out, our vet and vet tech also go there for agility and have the same trainer. Tomorrow, I start a course about pet therapy. (This first course is for humans only.)  It will be nice to be a student for a change!

I need to Google "Queen of the Night"--is it an outdoor plant? We have moon flowers, but I'm guessing this one is much fancier.

I Googled that plant, too.  I've never heard of it.  Some varieties only bloom one night per year!  What a cool thing to have in your garden, Ginger.

Glad to hear Hot's paw is getting better.  I started another thread this morning about a sore spot Ruby has on her back paw.  It just started bugging her a few days ago, so I'm hoping to get on top of it before it gets more serious.  I immediately thought of Hot's issue!

Kate, I hope RonnieO enjoys his new "student activities."  Our shelter is offering a one session class on reading canine body language.  It's for people only.  I'm hoping I can attend; it sounds interesting.

I thought of Doug's grandkids, too.  A very difficult thing to explain, indeed.  But I'm glad he has his grandkids to keep him smiling during such a sad time.
