    Tuesday chat

Well, I found a whole new way to make a Monday really stink.  While driving down to the office I heard a gawd awful crash and glass breaking.  Turned out to be the rear window and it totally shattered as I drove.  For a second I wondered if someone was shooting at cars.

I was traveling on a rural road, not much traffic, but a big truck had passed me going in the other direction, so I'm thinking something fell off his truck or the tires threw something at me.  There is a small dent on the far side of the window frame so I guess whatever hit the window bounced off and then hit the frame before flying off to where ever.  I must say....I almost needed to turn around and go change my pants!

The MRI last night was not a lot of fun.  I believe they have made those tubes smaller since the last time I had one.  Shuddering!!  I came very close a couple times to squeezing the panic button, but I managed to tough it out.  The valium kicked in AFTER I was done.

Today is going to be hot and humid with a chance of a storm and then rain all day tomorrow.  Hopefully, the rain will be gone for the long weekend.  This week is insane tho, because of that long weekend.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sheesh, Glenda! The window breaking must have scared the crap out of you. Hope you are okay.

Just got back from a doctor's appointment, possibly a UTI. I have to pick up the meds later.

Crazy storms again last night. I think the humidity is finally starting to break a bit. It may be dry for a few days, too.

    Not much else.

Oh, my pear tomatoes have fruit!! Big Smile

Yikes, Glenda!  I would have had a heart attack!  If a pebble hits my windshield, it scares the heck out of me.  It's a good thing it wasn't your front windshield!

The one MRI I've had was an open one, so that was much easier than those tubes.  I'm sure you're glad that's over!

Tina, my MIL has chronic UTIs, and when we were talking about that with someone last weekend, they suggested adding some cream of tartar powder to some juice and drinking it each day.  It's supposed to help prevent them.  We haven't researched it yet, but I'm assuming it adds acid or something to your system, making bacteria less able to thrive.

Temps expected to reach 98 today.  VERY unusual for here.  I'm so glad I don't work outdoors!

Oh man, I hate UTI's!  I'm sure you know this Tina, but be sure to eat yogart with live, active cultures, or take the pills so you don't end up with a yeast infection as a chaser.

Yeah, it did scare the crap out of me.  Big time.  Luckily I'm good in an emergency and fall apart after the fact, otherwise I might have wrecked the whole car.

Not one but TWO doctors appointments this morning and I barely made it from one to the other.  Good news on both fronts, so won't complain.  And, I still got started on my work day by 9:15.  Just now taking a quick lunch break since I'm no longer able to munch while I drive.....being one armed is a pain in many ways!  I suppose eating while driving could be considered distracted driving, but I'm not able to do it now, and am actually liking stopping in the shade to break out whatever I brought that day so will likely continue that practice.

There just isn't enough shade today though.  It is blistering hot and very humid today.  MAYBE a storm this afternoon, or it might hold off and dump on us for the next two days.  Personally, I'm hoping it starts sooner than later.

    Sandwich is gone....back to work.

Bummer about the uti. How uncomfortable.

The window breaking would have scared the crap out of me!  Good thing it's summer and not Winter.

The storms last night were nasty. Lightning struck a power line across the street and took out my power around 3 am. I left a message at the utility Co reporting it and they called me back at 4 am. Seriously. 4 am. I suppose it is good they are so responsive but the lady asks me "do you happen to have your account number?"  ummm it's 4 am and I'm in bed. No I don't have my account number! Anyway, I answered all her questions and told her I could see the power line sparking. As I hung up a utility truck pulled up. Not sure when my power was restored but it was on when I woke up for the day so that's cool.

Honestly, if you drink cranberry juice every day, it will really help with UTI reoccurrence.  Not the cranberry pills, actually cranberry juice, any brand.  It's an old folk remedy that really works.
