    Tooosday chatting!! 6/17/14

Hey Ginger!! Sorry to hear about Hot and his poor foot! And yes B dodged another bullet Smile

Tina I had one of those in red it is both cool and creepy in a way.

Ruby you are such a silly girl!! That is not a contest that B would do well in, he has to investigate anything new and interesting. The sardines would have gone down easily, the radish? guessing that would have been rolled and licked and rolled and spit out LOL

I am working from home!!! Woohoo!!

I have to clean my car so I can put it up for sale. The new one should arrive on Friday or Saturday. I am kind of excited but won't really be happy until I have the kayak carrier set on the new car and the Sorento sold!

Today our weather guy said it was going to be in the 'low 100's', is that an oxymoron???

Jackie we all know you are a genius

I was very happy that the USA soccer team pulled out a victory - we may not win another game but that felt great

Bugsy found a black snake skin last night. He has this love hate affair with these and each time he finds one he seems to be getting slightly braver. The first few he found his tail was tucked tight under him - to date it is the only thing I have ever seen that had him tuck his tail.

The cockscomb plant, I was intrigued by the shape as well as the fuzzy texture of the flower. And they were on clearance for $2.50 each, so it was my splurge.

Crazy rainstorms rolling through here this morning. I would not want to live in Tornado Alley. The twin tornadoes that hit Pilger, NE yesterday were scary. The footage I saw this morning showed what looked like a house or garage being thrown from the funnel about midway up. Ugh. Prayers going out to the residents.

I hope Hot Shot is feeling better soon.

    Oh, and good job Abbie!

That's what Ruby has done with whole radishes (and other "round" snacks) before.  DH, thinking swiftly, bit the radish in half before he gave it to her.  That's what we do when we give her strawberries, otherwise she does the roll around and spit out thing!

Karen, are you getting another Sorento or similar SUV?  I know a  Bugsy Mobile needs room for the kayak carrier AND you and Bugs!

As for his reaction to the snake skin --- if I had a tail, I'd tuck it, too --- right before I took off running and screaming.  Yes, that would be my reaction even if was "only" the skin!

Last night my neighbor brought over some sweet pea blossoms from his garden, along with a bowl of the tiniest strawberries I've ever seen.  He said they were wild strawberries; he has them in his garden but they generally don't produce lots of fruit.  For some reason, they've got lots ready for picking, so he shared them.  They're about the size of blueberries.  I ate nearly the whole bowl before I realized they hadn't been washed.  I tried not to think about the fact that these grow in his backyard where his dog probably has peed on them.  Ick!

Trying not to laugh Tracy.  Just think how delicious the strawberries would have been without dog pee. lol    I want sweet pea blossoms from my neighbor.  I get cat feces in my yard from my neighbors.  I think I would be in heaven if I had a neighbor like yours.  Mine are more like Tina's butt crack displaying neighbors.

Belle would have come in dead last in that contest.  She's more like Bugsy.  Anything new, she takes to her crate and spits it out and studies it carefully for hidden explosives or signs of poison.  Because we all know I routinely give her food that is harmful. lol  If she deems it safe or whatever is going in her little lemon sized brain, she eats it.  If she doesn't think she wants it she guards it from Rex and Gabby because she's not about to share even if she doesn't want it.   If I get it and give it to one of the other dogs, she's all "wait that was mine!".

Did I tell you guys that one of our techs had a baby on Father's Day?  How cool is that?  He called to tell me Monday morning and he was so pumped.  He said it was the best Father's Day gift ever and she was born right after the Spurs won the championship.  lol   I couldn't tell which was more exciting to him. :)  He's taking the week off to stay home and help his wife.  How sweet is that? Back in the day, the wife and evil MIL took care of the kid and the husband worked.  I'm glad things have changed. I do need to let the guys know that impregnating their wives during certain months is against company policy.  We're too busy this time of year to be short one man.  :)

Very cool about the father's day gift.

Congrats on the new car Karen. That's always so exciting!

Not much going on here today. Did some online work clothes shopping and spent way too much money, as usual. It had to be done though!

I need to find a new hair stylist.. The one I loved had complications with her pregnancy then the baby had issues when it was born so she has been out of work for nearly a year. I've been tryingto hold out for her but jjust called and she is only back to work for 4 hrs a day. I will never get in with her with that schedule. So it's time to bite the bullet and shop around for someone new. So sad.

Belle's behavior with the snacks is hilarious!  Ruby must trust 110% that we're not giving you something bad because whenever we offer her something, she instantly gobbles it.  The only time she pauses is if she feels that it has a round shape.

That's cool about the tech's baby arriving on Father's Day.  Maybe in honor of the Spurs championship, he can give her the middle name "Antoinette" (a version of Antonio) or something related to a player's name.  I agree that it's nice how the Dads are so involved compared to the old days.  My mother said they left my father in the lobby when she was wheeled in to deliver us, and he came up to the room when everything was calm, clean, and collected.

That reminds me of a funny story I heard some English pop star say as a guest on a talk show once.  I hope no one finds it offensive.  He had a new baby, and the host asked him if he was in the delivery room with his wife.  He said yes, and Emma Thompson (also a guest that night) asked, "Were you at the business end?"  When he said yes, she said, "What was that like for you?"  He said, "It was like watching my favorite pub burn down."  Everyone cracked up.  Emma Thompson said, "Don't worry, they can fix her up!" or something like that.  Big Smile

Julie, that's a bummer about your hair stylist.  It's so hard to find someone you really like.  What a drag to have to find someone new.  Ugh.

    Moving sucks.

    That is all.

    Will catch up soon.......

Tracy, urea has many positive attributes - or so they say ;)

Bugsy is like Belle - if it's new a full investigation takes place. Unlike Belle he totally wants you to take it away and give it to whomever. I think it's like those stories where they make the person drink from the poisoned chalice (is the right word?) before the guest tries it. He totally thinks it could be poison I am giving him

I am getting a smallish wagon, Volvo V60. They have all new engines and are rated at 37MPG and that is the main reason I am changing. Also as I said in the past, I keep my eye on things and right now I should only lose about $3k from what I bought the Sorento at over three years ago. The Volvo has 5 yrs, 50,000 miles of all maintenance & upkeep outside of tires. It will be a fairly tight fit for B and he'll have to lie down. This will take some adjustment from the king of luxury but he'll have to deal with it. I speak strongly however it is my biggest concern LOL

Happily I have the rack for the kayak sorted out and as a bonus I should be able to sell my current setup for as much or more than it cost for the new rack

The temp is pushing 100*, it sucks, due to be like this all week. At work when it gets super hot it is freezing here at home I hate running the AC all day so it's pretty warm

Sweet Pea Blossoms sound lovely although I have never tried them.  I have had squash blossom before.  I actually have a "wild strawberry bush" , never tasted them either cause the birds and Seffie always got to them before me... dog pee, cat pee, donkey slobber, lol.

I do really miss him, the cows and sheep are not near as excited about watermelon as Seffie always was.

Karen and Jackie, too funny about Belle and Bugsy and their aversion to certain snacks.  It reminds me that Rocky didn't like watermelon until he noticed I would carry a sack outside and give the contents to Seffie.  Ron had to start leaving some accidental pieces for Rocky cause all the sudden he "loved" watermelon.   Big dog Hot, takes little tiny bites and you can not toss him a treat because he has zero mouth-eye coordination.  It will hit his nose and then he will open his mouth which by that time it is on the floor.   Shadow on the other hand would eat anything but onions. He preferred the game he and Ron had about how many he could catch in the air ...

Glenda, hugs to you.  I am confused I thought you moved the same week we moved our office?  I guess I have missed something,Embarrassed

    Gotta run. take care all

    • Gold Top Dog

I thought Glenda already moved also....

    Buffy picks out the tomatoes.

Went out and  refurbished  the sock and undie drawer today.  Blech, when did they become so expensive?

LOL sorry Hot I did laugh. B is a great catcher but if I try to toss him something he isn't sure of he will open his giant mouth to catch it and then clearly get a whiff and let if land then investigate  - too darn smart

Marty I reloaded on undies a while back and was also surprised by the cost and I don't do fancy for everyday wear!
