Happy Hump Day chat

    Happy Hump Day chat

Beautiful day here after horrid heat yesterday followed by some nasty storms.  We had flash flood warnings and our street flooded pretty good.  But, it's like the storm washed things clean, and it sure helped with the allergens because I didn't wake up with gunky eyes this morning.

My step son is getting married on Saturday, on a beach in Maine.  Thankfully, it's a beach in the Southern part of ME so it is only about a 6 hour trip.  What the heck does one wear to a beach wedding????  He's marrying a lovely gal and I hope they will have a long and happy marriage.  Now to figure out what the heck to wear.......lol!

I did discover that the "new" Vicodin I was given in the ER with the lower dose of ibuprofen does not make me super hyper so I can actually take one and get some sleep.  That's a major plus as not sleeping wells for days on end was starting to make me cranky.   No wise cracks please!  Surprise

Off to start another busy day.  Hope everyone enjoys their day!

Glenda, wear whatever you'd wear to any summer wedding.  With flip flops. :)

Another night of little sleep.  Major work headaches and Belle needs to see the vet.  Hopefully it's nothing major.  She's had a little sore on her foot and it just won't heal.  I've had her wearing a cone and the darn thing heals up or so it seems.   So I take the cone off and she licks it and it's back to square one.

    Thinking of Tina today.

    Yes, same here.

I've never been to a beach wedding, but if it's a very warm, sunny day, then I'd say a simple sundress or skirt and blouse would be fine.  And definitely flip flops -- easy to take off if you want to put your toes in the sand!

I hope Belle's foot is okay.  Is she prone to hot spots or other skin things like that?  Hopefully it's just a stubborn raw spot and nothing serious.

Speaking of worrisome things on our dogs, I just remembered that Karen posted something about a suspicious lump on Bugsy.  Has she said anything more on Facebook about that?  Fingers crossed both Belle and Bugsy have good reports from the vet.

I'm on night #3 of practically no sleep, also.  Usually it's DH's snoring that is the main culprit, but this week it's my own brain.  I just can't seem to fall asleep.  I'm not fretting over anything in particular --- it's just like I've had too much sugar or caffeine or something.  So annoying.  And my allergies are horrible this week, so on top of my eyes being incredibly tired, they're burning and itching from pollen.  Ugh.

    Thanks Jackie & Tracy.

The post Doug put in her Rainbow Bridge thread brought tears to my eyes this morning. I didn't realize how stressful feeding time had become until I went home last night and didn't have to worry about GingerD attacking Missy.

Other than that, my peonies are starting to bloom.

Sending vibes for Belle's foot issue as well as better sleep vibes for Jackie & Tracy.

Doug's post made me cry too.   Tina, I love peonies but they don't do well here.

Tracy, sorry you're not sleeping well either.  Why don't our brains have an off switch?

I haven't seen Karen post anything about Bugsy's lump except here.  I know she's been crazy busy.

I'd love to take a nap right now.

I sent you a pic of one from my phone to yours. I'd have added the fragrance to make it more real if I could have. Big Smile

I ask this question often, too.  Can't they figure out how to do that thing in science fiction movies where people go into a sleep state (usually in a pod or something), then they wake up, fully refreshed.  I guess the only thing we have in the real world that does that is Ambien or something, but I don't want to start using that.  I know I'd become dependent on it!

Let's hope that "no news is good news" when it comes to Bugsy's lump.

I liked the poem Doug posted as well.  There are several pieces like that one that will make me get very choked up, even though it's been 8+ years since Tonka died.  It doesn't take much for that sadness to come to the surface, especially when a good writer finds a way to express something so beautifully that you feel yourself, but can't articulate.

Peonies thrive here.  My neighbor has several gorgeous ones.  Another house down the street where we walk Ruby has several right along the sidewalk.  They're so overwhelmed with blooms that their cages barely hold them upright.  I always stop to smell them when we walk by!

Tina, no picture yet.  Don't tease me.

I keep getting a network error.

Thanks for the clothing tips!  I'm hoping for warm and sunny for both of them!

My heart just breaks for Tina.  I didn't see the post last night.

TIna, maybe I'll get the pic later today.
