    Tuesday Chat 5/20/14

Another nice day here. Sunny and not too hot and humid yet. The caterpillars have all disappeared from the parsley plant. Hopefully, they've moved on the next stage of their lives and didn't become food for a hungry bird. They supposedly taste very bad so I hope that discouraged the birds.

Tonight is the first class with Belle in the Reactive Rover class. I'm excited and nervous.

Tina, how did the acupuncture go with GingerD?

GingerD's acupuncture went well. She was nervous but easily distracted by treats. She has another appointment next week. The vet observed that GingerD's back legs are very straight (poor conformation), which might explain why she looks so stiff when she walks or tries to sit. She also noted that GingerD is a worrier. Yeah, I can't go 3 feet without her following me or checking to see where I am. Anyway, it takes about 24-48 hours after the appointment to notice changes.

Busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest today. I had a list of things to accomplish and keep getting interrupted.

Hope Ginger does  well.  Dogs do love their treats :) not much going on here today our Anniversary, we did go out for a nice breakfast, then DH went shopping and I cleaned the house.

There was no need for the apology about the small dog comment, I agreed with it.  Ive seen many that are like that. ::  Hope everyone has a great day.  Nice to come here and not have to sign in, makes me want to post.

At least you're not as busy as a one-armed man hanging wall paper, Tina.  Wink

I'm glad GingerD was cooperative with the acupuncture treatment.  I hope you see some improvement.  Aren't there acupuncture points that can help reduce anxiety?  I'm pretty sure there are for human acupuncture patients.  Maybe they can find a similar spot on GingerD to help with her worrying problem.  Poor GingerD -- as a fellow worrier, I can relate!

Jackie, looking forward to hearing more details about how things go tonight at the class. I wish I could find something like that near us for Ruby.

Happy Anniversary, Vivian!  I hope you and DH enjoy the rest of your special day.

Ruby goes for her follow up appointment today -- 2 weeks since her teeth were pulled.  We're looking forward to hearing the vet say it's okay to give her Nylabones back to her.  She keeps looking for them.  She will be so excited when she sees one again!

Happy Anniversary Auburn :)  Tina I hope Ginger D does have some success with acupuncture.  Hey Jackie, my "You may think your going Crazy" card has a special spot in my new office :)

Hope all is well, we are good here.  Getting settled in to my new office and new job description.  It has been a slight adjustment for all of us but going pretty good.

I have missed my IDog friends, I may have to break down and get one of those fancy phones so I can catch up on my lunch hour.

    Gotta get back to work,

    Take care!

    Happy Anniversary Vivian and  Mr.Vivian!

GingerP, I'm glad that card is still giving you some laughs. :)  We miss you too.

Tracy, I'll post here about the reactive dog class or maybe I'll start a new thread in the training section where no one will ever see it because of all the cat videos. lol

or maybe I'll start a new thread in the training section where no one will ever see it because of all the cat videos.

Boy, that's the truth.  I'll be sure to hunt for it!

GingerP, glad to hear you're settling into your new space and job duties.  It does help to have some familiar photos and trinkets around, that's for sure.

Speaking of funny cards, my friend's BD is later this week and I found the funniest card for her.  She's about 10 years older than I am, and we often lament our advancing ages.  The cards says, "Remember when you were a little kid and people asked how old you were, you showed them with your fingers?"  On the inside it says, "Well, if people ask you now, you'll only need one finger!"  Big Smile

too lazy to start a new thread.......

    GingerP great to 'see' you

Tina, many labs have too straight of angles in their rear legs which is what leads to so many labs tearing their ACLs, I wonder if hers were torn years ago and have healed with scar tissue. My sisters lab did that :( It is fine though as long as there isn't instability and it sounds like there isn't. I started B on something called Snip Tips which is a high powered fish oil and it seems to be the first supplement in which i have seen real results.

Ruby I hope you get your nylabones back!

Oh goodie I can't wait to see all the cat videos, this is DOG.com, right?

Which reminds me, yesterday my first post was from Jan. 2007. I looked at the top of the page and it said it was sorted Newest to Oldest. So I looked around and all the posts were years old. So I looked to see if some spammer had posted on those threads to bring them back up, nope. Marvelous.

Bugsy's friend of the day was a 75lb pittie that no one else would even say hi to, she was sooooo sweet. People suck, dogs rule. I felt sad for the couple as they had hoped a dog friendly place wouldn't be filled with the sort that I complained about and they too were frustrated with.
