    Happy Hump Day chat

Seems like it should be Friday by now, but......

Poor DH is having trouble getting comfy with his arm wrapped so isn't sleeping terribly well, which means I'm not sleeping terribly well.  And, of course, I wake up somewhat when his alarm goes off at 2 and again at 6....can't miss a dose of his antibiotics so that means not a heck of a lot of restful sleep.....for either of us.  Oh well....it's only a 7 day supply and two days are gone....only five remaining!  I just saran wrapped him so he could shower and of course got all the guy jokes about that.......they never grow up, do they?

Today started off rainy, cold and dreary, but already it's clearing up and might be a nice day.  I have an awful lot to do today, so am hoping that the skies don't decide to open again later.

Hope everyone has a great day today!

I'm sleepy.  I'm not used to staying up past 9 or 9:30.  I didn't get home from class until 10 and then it took a while to wind down my brain.  The trainer brought her sweet pittie to class as one of the demo dogs.  Rex fell madly in love. :)  Of course Rex falls in love pretty easily and fell in love with every person in the room.

It was 54 degrees here this morning!  Unheard of for us this time of year.  Normally we'd be waking up to 80 and high humidity.  I am not complaining because I know the heat will return soon and with a vengeance.  The plants and flowers are loving all the rain we got.

80 homes were destroyed by a wildfire in north Texas near Amarillo.  :( That's DH's old stomping ground.  He and his dad spent a lot of time fishing on Lake Meredith which is just outside Amarillo.  The fires in CA are super scary looking.

Tracy, I 'd love to go to the de-tox and re-tox class.  lol  What a hoot!

Sheesh, 56 is supposed to be our high for the day. We had about 5 days of warm temperatures (70s & humid). I guess summer is over now. Hmm

Ginger was very out of it due to the meds, so I am going to have to call the vet. No point in relieving pain by keeping her zonked so she can't function.

Wildfires are so scary to me - I can't help but think of those firefighters who were overcome last year. Sad

I'm in the same boat today, Jackie.  I had a meeting last night -- started about 5:30pm and ended about 9:15pm.  It took me ages to fall asleep, as I was mentally rehashing the discussion and couldn't quiet my mind.  I'm very tired today, and I have another meeting at lunch time where I'll need to be alert.  On the bright side, it's at my favorite pasta restaurant.  But now that I think about it, that could be a problem:  a belly full of pasta isn't going to help my sleepiness.  I may have to put my head down on my desk for a nap like we did in Kindergarten!

Sounds like TX and OR have swapped weather again.  It may reach 90 today.  That's beyond what I consider comfortable.  Thank doG for A/C!

Tina, I wonder if there's an adjustment period for the new medication, and maybe after a few doses, GingerD will build up a little tolerance and not be so zonked out?  Or maybe there's a lower dose that will still give her some relief, yet not have such strong effects.  I agree that being comfortable but totally out of it isn't how you want to see her.

This is going viral probably but some might not have seen it.  ETA: Tracy, I was thinking the same thing about the medicine GingerD is on.

    Love it!

You know, Theo no longer barks at cats thanks to Gypsies pyscho cat act when he barked at her brother......just saying, a little bit of cat can terrorize even a large dog!

hey everyone!!! One more day until the beach!!!

The project I am on remains stressful and life consuming so tonight I rushed home (well as much as traffic would allow) ate a hotdog real quick and met our new friend and GSP pup at the lake. If there has ever been a dog that was similar to B it is this one. Good gracious it is hysterical.

I don't think I have laughed that hard in ages!! It's been super hot here so it was a perfect evening to hit the lake. The owner of the pup texted afterward "thanks for adopting us"

totally made me smile Big Smile

She's fairly young but an equine surgeon at the vet school, I am trying to ensure that her pup doesn't completely rule her LOL He is as bold as they come and will easily be a powerful 85lb dog once mature. Having step by step learned how to deal with a powerful, bold dog I am happy to pass on 'lessons learned'

Hi -- Glenda - sorry to hear about your husband's arm!

Wow Jackie -- it's off to being another weird weather year I guess.

Karen -- B made another doggie friend??  Shocker!!  (*grin* I'd love to see him with Luna sometime -- both of them are SO good at relating to other dogs.)

Hi to ever-buddy.  I'm still alive.  Work has been insanely busy and I'm still being incredibly challenged by the muscle spasms.  I'm taking a med that helps *but* altho I'm on a super low dose, I'm not able to take more because it messes with the memory & thought processes (and I gotta keep my job to pay vet bills LOL).  I just wish I weren't so "sensitive" to pharmaceuticals.

I think I shall rent Tinkerbell out as a cat.  Yesterday morning she zoomed into the  house with something large in her mouf -- David got her stopped and relieved her of the LARGE tree rat  (dead) in said mouf.  ugh -- I'm glad he was first at the door that time!  David said by the look of it she killed it.  (and probably no fairy dust used either LOL)
