    Sunday-pre rai

    Little boy is growing up
He was in a running and swimming mood .  He hit the water and was swimming out to play with a goose.  He seems to not understand the effects of distance on size, and has no fear of water.  As i didn't want to go wading to save him, I called him back.
    He did sleep well .

Awwwww!  He's growing up too darned fast.

The jury is still out, but I *think* I might have survived this move.  There is still massive disorder, but I'm chipping away at it a bit at a time and doing what I can to make it livable.  Needless to say, I'm beyond exhausted!

Once today's list is accomplished we are going out for dinner.....I NEED a break.  And, it's a half hour drive to and from the place we are going so enforced rest!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Oh, and it's delightful not to have to log in!

Doug loved the pictures of your dog.  Glenda so glad your move is over for you.

Gosh Doug he is such a handsome boy!!

I have skimmed through the week's posting and whew a busy-ish week. Good thoughts for Ruby if I don't get back on and happy birthday Kate's dad!!

I 'took' yesterday off - it's been a crazy month of work for me culminating last week with many many hours and some political silliness. This week should be the beginning of the return to some opportunity for life outside work............I hope.

Anyway, yesterday we drove out to the beach (2.5 hrs) to meet some friends that stay there for a week at this time each year. We didn't make it last year because of B's surgery so although the dog's hadn't seen each other in 2 yrs, they instantly recognized each other Big Smile

    It was so cool!

Bugsy was wild and crazy - the norm but still stunning at his age and what he's been through. I can only shake my head and pray when I see him flying high and landing his 105lbs onto those repaired limbs.

I have loads to do, however here is a pic of my sweet and nutty boy from yesterday -

Doug, that pup is really growing and such a good looking dog.  Glenda, glad you've got everything moved.

Karen, I love the picture of the boys playing at the beach!

Just finished eating some French toast with strawberries from the farmers market and a dab of sweet cream.  Oh my, that was too good.  Now off to do some gardening unless I fall into a food coma.

Lugnut seems to emulate Bugsy a bit, what with zoomies in the house, yard, and field, and a strange urge to swim after the geese. Also, every dog he sees is his new best friend.  2 weeks till class starts for him.

Great photos, Doug and Karen!  You guys are so lucky to have dogs who can interact with other dogs so happily and with an acceptable level of friendly enthusiasm, instead of how Ruby behaves.  It makes me sad that she doesn't have dog friend experiences like yours do (her rare wrestling sessions with two dogs who tolerate her are a bit stressful to watch -- not at all the same image I get with Bugsy and Lugnut).  I remember that dog from previous beach visit photos, Karen.  So cute!

Jackie, that breakfast sounded delicious.  We went to our farmer's market yesterday, but it was too cold and windy to mill around long.  There was a woman there selling breads and baked goods, including big soft pretzels.  I've been craving one since Steph mentioned it the other day.  It was very good, but not warm, so lacking just a bit.

Kate, belated wishes to your Dad.  Sounds like it was an enjoyable BD for him.  Any updates on your new pup yet?  Looking forward to some pics after he arrives!

Thanks for the wishes for Ruby's dental.  Talked to my friend whose Boxer had the major dental stuff on Friday.  He's doing okay, clearly uncomfortable and not able to eat the way he wants (she's mashing up soft food in small meals for him).  Getting the pain meds and antibiotics down is tough.

Glad your move has gone well, Glenda.  Enjoy tonight's break.  Karen, hope things are calmer with your work soon, too.

Off to do some laundry.  May take a walk with my friend between rain showers.

I love the B picture too!

We won't say that the move went well, but, the good part is, it's over.  I still have to organize the middle bedroom, which is where my closet is, but, as soon as DS gets out of the shower, we are going out for a great Mexican meal and I may or may not do anything else today.  I do need to unearth clothes for this next week, but that might be all I do when we get home.  There is still a bit of bathroom stuff to unpack, but the essentials are put away, and everything else can wait until next weekend or an evening when I have some energy left.  This is totally unlike me to leave things, but, I'm tired, I've busted my butt all week while still working, and I need to relax.  And, by golly, I'm gonna even if it kills me!

Hopefully Doug he learns to listen to his master better than Bugsy, however the exuberance, joy to be alive, bird drive and everyone's a friend part I am sure you'll enjoy throughout his life.

    I'm still logged in!  Wahoo

Loved the photos. I agree, I wish my dogs enjoyed other dogs like your guys dogs do. Lily and Neiko will play with other dogs but most of the time they are like meh!  And abbie is selective about who she likes. Mostly she is the fun police when there's more than 3 dogs around.

We had boat work (drowning)  training today. Abbie still has a lot of work to do before being reliable on a boat. She loves boats but she is not as confident yet as she should be when indicating on HR in the water from within a boat. She is awesome at shoreline HR scent so I know she can get there. It just takes practice.

I'm looking forward to warmer temps next week! Wish I could ride my bike!

Doug, the pup looks great! I can't believe how he has grown.

Karen, Bugsy is clearly having fun! Yeah for a trip to the beach!

Glenda, I'm glad you're moved. And, I hope dinner out was great!

Julie, I am so impressed with all that Abbie has already learned--keep us updated on her boat work.

Strawberries from the farmer's market, Jackie? Yummmmmm!

A good weekend here--Dad was well celebrated and we had great weather. I just got the scent box ready to send to Ronnie--I did this when I adopted Mozey, and it seemed to make things much easier. (I send a box with a washcloth Mozey has slept on and a t-shirt I've worn for Ronnie to sniff; Ronnie sends his slept-on wash cloth for Mozey to sniff. That way, they've "met" each other before they meet. Who knows if it really makes a difference, but I think it does.)

Doug the pup looks beautiful, they grow up so fast. I love seeing dogs able to get out and run around. You are a very responsible doggie dad.

Your pup reminds me of a dog I had growing, brings back great memories. Very beautiful.
