    Monday Chat

Summer is officially here. We hit 99 F yesterday. No wonder I was so hot yesterday working in the yard. The dogs enjoyed playing with the water hose. I hope Gin in AK is ok. After seeing the destruction caused by those storms, I've had her on my mind.

I, too, was thinking about GingerP.

99 degrees - unbelievable! It was 57 here with 20-25 mph winds out of the northeast, so it was cold. I took GingerD for a walk last night around 5:30p and wore gloves and a winter hat. Gah.

Kate, from the other day, so glad you have a date for RonnieO to come home!  I don't have any training tips for one-eyed dogs, but...my husky Shari lost an eye at age 14 and she adapted very quickly. Once she knew where things were, she was able to navigate her way around easily. I always tried to stay on the side with the eye because she still had some peripheral vision there (nothing like startling an old, partially blind, half-deaf dog). I was amazed how well she did.

Not much else. It's another day in paradise. Indifferent

I can't imagine 99 degrees in april. That's pretty hot!

This weather system moving across the country is pretty crazy and it's giving me sinus issues. I wish it would just get on with itself already.

I'm crock potting chicken for salads this week and it smells so good!

we seem to be riding a heat wave.  43F with gusty winds and a really interesting rain.  Missed a cell call because my phone was about 3 layers deep.  Pup can do his business in record time-in and out and done.

Doug, a pup who doesn't dilly-dally when doing his business is a great thing on those cold days -- and on the rainy days, too!  I don't enjoy standing on the patio, getting rained on, saying, "Go potty, Ruby, go potty!" over and over again!

I was thinking of GingerP, too, when I heard about the tornadoes.  Hopefully she'll check in.  As much as I fear earthquakes here, I can only imagine how afraid I'd be if I knew there were tornado warnings.

We're due for some unseasonably warm temps later this week -- 80 degrees.  That's a bit higher than I like (75 is my ideal).  I'm afraid I'd be a complaining companion if I were visiting you right now, Jackie!

My coworker asked if I had a good weekend, and I said, "Well, it depends on how you define good."  To me it was great because it was exactly what I wanted it to be:  I did ALL my laundry from my trip, including all the ironing, caught up on the housework that had been neglected before and during my absence, got some extra sleep Saturday night, and even made a good size dent in some paperwork and "organizational" stuff I needed to do.  Don't get me wrong:  my To Do List still has plenty on it, but I was very pleased to cross so many things off it this weekend!

I was thinking of GingerP when I watched the news tonight. Good thoughts for all in the storm areas--and I, too, hope we hear from her soon.

I cut the first asparagus today! It was just enough for a side dish--spring must be here, though it is cold and windy tonight. I just can't even imagine 90s in April!

I would give anything for 75! Tired of being cold. Can't believe we still don't have leaves on our trees .
