(((Tina ))) I'm so sorry to hear about Ginger. I will be saying some prayers for her (and you). Jessie had the same symptoms. At first the vet thought it was old dogs vestibular disease but when it recurred a few weeks later I took her to Purdue for tests. It wasn't neurological; they said she was having strokes. The strokes were caused by her being hypercoagulable and having high blood pressure. They started her on clopidogrel and amlodipine and she never had anymore strokes. I hope Ginger just has old dogs vestibular disease because it will resolve without treatment. Dramamine helped Jessie with the dizziness.
GingerP; The trip went great and we're adopting him. We were surprised by his size; he's smaller than what he looks in the pictures. He does appear to be part Rottie but he's about the size of a Cocker Spaniel (mom or dad really took a walk). He is very sweet and we think he's going to be a great addition to our family. He will be neutered tomorrow and we'll pick him up on Saturday. This is a no kill shelter and they depend on donations and fund raisers so they can't afford to have a dog neutered until the adoption fee is paid. They work with a couple vets in the area that do the neutering for them at a reduced cost. I'm really looking forward to working with him like we did Jessie; I think he will be a quick learner.
