    Thursday chat

Back to reality today. It was a nice reprieve!

    That's all I got so far :)

    • Gold Top Dog

I'm glad you had a good time, Julie.  :)

Gabby is trying to mug me for a slice of orange.

    • Gold Top Dog

    Gabby will eat oranges?

Welcome back to the deep freeze, Julie!

Finally got pee and poop from Ginger (the dog) to the vet. No problems, but we are going to try the meds to help with the urine leaking. She's not completely incontinent like I thought at first, but it's still uncomfortable for her.

DS is moving out this weekend and I'm thrilled. There'll be no do-overs this time.

On the way to work, I noticed a digital sign displayed the temperature at -0. Does that mean it's colder than just plain 0? Hmm

    • Gold Top Dog

Yes, Gabby loves oranges and most any fruit.  She's willing to eat just about anything.

Tina, I'm glad Ginger got a good poop and pee report.  I hope the meds help with the incontinence.

Party at Tina's!!  When it warms up of course.  We can celebrate Ginger's new life and the departure of your DS.  :)  I hope everything works out for your son, Tina.

Yes, it is colder than 0.  My current report is -11F.  It's supposed to cool off a bit this weekend.   Uff da!!!!. You betcha.

I have 2 Carhart winter coats. One for work, a Polar insulated hoodie style.  Light weight, hard finish outer.  The other is the heavy winter barn coat style.  The lighter one is actually warmer than the heavier one.  I noticed this as I seem to be going out into sub zero winds more frequently and have the work coat in the front closet. Lugnut doesn't seem to notice the temp.  He runs, jumps, sniffs, makes trails to run on, and has a great time exploring.

Training seem to be going better.  He now has us trained to open the door when he barks to go out, and after weeks of effort, we now carry kibbles in all pockets.  I had the alarm set at 6:30 today, because at 6:35, Lugnut needs to be outside, and Piper follows.

Piper now waits for me to carry her up the stairs in the morning.  After she is up and stretched out a bit, she can manage by herself, even when the pup jumps on her.  Be nice to get some warm weather, melt some snow, and get the dogs into a WMA for a good run.  The pup loves to run, back and forth on paths in the snow and around under and through everything in the house.  Fortunately, wife finds his zoomies funny, so far.

Tina, great news from your cold neck of the woods :)

Jackie Shadow loved fruit also, my boys..not so much.  Rocky has come to like watermelon but that is only because I was feeding the rinds to Sephie the donkey and he thought he should have what Sephie had.

Julie I am glad you had a good time and a safe trip home.  I bet there were some tail waggins at your house

We were 13 last night  may get some freezing rain tomorrow.  Yuck, the good news is March is on it's way

Dyan, just wanted to say extra special strong vibes headed your way for Gibby

Hello everyone, Morgan likes fruit too! Just working away wanted to check in here on the forum. It looks like the Northeast is headed for another round of snow again, possibly 10 more inches. Was finally starting to go away. Getting ready to get somethings done around the house. Have a nice afternoon everyone.

Welcome back, Julie!  Bummer you had to return to more brutal temps, but hopefully the memories of sun in Vegas will warm you inside and out!

Tina, glad to hear that Ginger's "waste report" was a good one.  Hopefully the meds help her (don't they have similar things for humans?  I think I've seen ads for a drug for that condition in the myriad of drug ads on TV).  I can imagine you're very excited about your son's move.  I hope for him and for you that things work out well in his new place and that you only have to see each other for social purposes, not house-sharing purposes!  Wink

Doug, when DH was in the field more, working on outdoor job sites, he had gear from Carhart for cold days and gear for rainy days . . . luckily, he's more in the office now, other than to do bids and estimates.  He keeps a coat in the truck but he doesn't miss having to work in bad weather all day.  Funny how some dogs don't seem to notice the cold.  Kind of like kids -- playing and romping in the snow, despite the sub-freezing temps.

Lots of rain here - high 40's this morning.  Speaking of rain, I wonder how Cathy is faring.  They're supposed to have lots of rain in CA, maybe some flooding.  Talk about one extreme or the other!

Oops, forgot to say that Ruby loves fruit, too.  She always enjoys apple and banana when we eat those, and DH gives her watermelon when he eats that.  She likes strawberries, but blueberries confuse her.  She kind of rolls them around in her mouth, not sure if they should be swallowed whole or chewed.  Sometimes they pop right back out of her mouth again.  We figured out that she seems to prefer if we cut them in half (or bite them ourselves) before giving them to her.  Goofball!

Tina, I'm so happy for your new family member :) I think she lucked out with you!

My dogs love fruit too. They believe all my apples should belong to them

I hope the weather in CA doesn't get too bad

    • Gold Top Dog

I saw that storm moving into CA, Julie.  Hope it's not as bad as predicted.  My sis in Phoenix hopes it brings them some rain.

    • Gold Top Dog

Gosh, compared to MI our weather is a balmy 19 degrees.....of course it's going to go down to 0 tonite with a windchill of 19 below.....already a wind chill warning in effect......March sure better be bringing some better weather with her!

Julie, so glad you had a great time, but geeze, it's gotta be tough going back into the deep freeze.

Only on a dog forum do people get excited about solid and liquid waste analysis!  Congrats Ginger, hope the meds help.  And, Tina, fingers crossed that this move "takes".

Tina, congratulations to you and Ginger...senior dogs are so sweet and such a joy to have! Thank you for becoming her guardian angel! I am so happy that February is just about over. Here in GA, we should see a gradual warming trend during March, and I'll be glad to get outside a little bit more! Getting that mess of a patio back in shape with a good cleaning and some flowers is always a highlight of my year!
