Chatting from the polar vortex 1-7-14

I've got nothing to add to the discussion about freezing temps other than, I can't even imagine.

Today is my 1st day back after 2 weeks off, so it's been understandably busy. I thought I was ready to get back in the swing of things until I had to get ready and leave this morning. I might actually be ready for full-time retirement one day soon. Unfortunately, now that we bought this house, the finances are no longer ready.

I suggested to my pet shop partners that we meet at my house tomorrow instead of at a deli. I was thrilled when they all agreed. DH is working and so it'll be just us girls and some wine, beer and snacks. Oh - and Shane :). If no one shows up this time, at least I won't be stuck sitting in a deli by myself.

Don't you wish you had someone to sort out your food and give you a nice massage after grooming you?  Our dogs do have it pretty good. :)
Me!!!! I want someone to do that for me too! LOL, I was just wondering about the tea. Do you actually serve them a specific kind of tea or is that "tea time" used for a snack or dinner. Good News, no hot water in the kitchen this a.m., Ron says its back yea! I sure would hate it not to be able to wash dishes tonight

I hope the meeting with the pet shop partners goes well, Cathy.  Shane will be thrilled. :)  I bet it was hard going back to work after two weeks off.

Gin, I'm glad your hot water in the kitchen is working.  It would be a shame to not be able to wash dishes. :)  The dogs would probably be happy to lick them clean.

Rex has something bothering him.  He's licking his lips and just acting like he doesn't feel well.  He didn't want to play. I kept thinking he needed to puke (the lip licking) but he hasn't.  He ate his dinner though I fed him less than normal.  It's almost like something in his mouth is bothering him.  I've looked and looked at his mouth but can't see anything wrong.  He'll have to go see the vet tomorrow if he's still doing it tomorrow.

Poor Rex!  Maybe he's got a sensitive tooth or a tiny cut on a gum that you can't see, but then maybe he would've avoided eating I suppose.  I hope he's better tomorrow.

When I read about Barley and Puzzle getting their tea, I imagined them sitting at a little table together, wearing hats or bow ties, sipping tea from a fine china tea set!  :-)

Cathy, did you really get stood up at a deli when you were supposed to have a meeting?  That's pretty crummy!  I bet everyone shows up at your house because the food, drink, surroundings, and dog mascot will all be better than the deli offered!
