I'm so glad to live where we don't have to deal with the bitter cold, snow, etc. We're a chilly 26F which is plenty cold for me. Nothing exciting going on here. Work today, dinner out and nothing on for the weekend. I'm in a rut. :(

We are at a toasty -6 degrees this morning, feels like -21, with a foot or more of fresh snow.  26 sounds pretty darned cold for Texas though!

Off to dig my car out and clear the foot of the driveway so I can leave.  Lovely.

Good morning everyone! We got about 8 inches of snow and wow is it cold, wind making it about 3 and could go to -15 with the gusts. Jackie I too am in a rut :( I think its just the winter blues. Stay positive the days are going to start getting long and before you know it Spring will be here. I try to look at the winter as time to get my house in order, maybe do some inside remodeling. I'm stuck inside anyway so at least I'll keep busy. However, my Rottie is loving this weather, I can't keep him in he loves to plow the snow with his nose, I'm going to attempt to get video later to post.

wow 26 seems cold for TX! I wont talk about my temps. I'll just ignore it and it'll go away, right?

The dogs paws did freeze though when they went outside to do their business. Never seen them so eager to get back inside.

-7 degrees here, not counting the wind chill. Shari would have been in heaven!

Thanks for the condolences about Buddy. Julie, he was a great cuddler - soft and warm - 15 lbs of love! Missy's 6lb bony butt is just not the same. Sad

No snow but 11 degrees here. I feel like a wimp whining about the cold when so many of you are way colder. Hot Shot didn't eat last night and kinda laid around. He didn't even get excited about his yogurt treats. He seemed better this morning but still not quite his normal self. I hope it passes. He has done this before although it's been awhile. He loves it outside in the cold but it tends to make him a little stiff, like me and Ron. He has been drinking normally so maybe he has just one of those off days. So glad it is Friday.....next weeks 5 day week may be difficult.

Beautiful day today.  10ºF with a breeze and light snow.  The mosquitoes are a little sluggish today.

Monday is going to be interesting.  The city of Rochester, MN has already announced school closings for Monday.  The temp is heading for the cellar, with wind.  Fortunately, it's a dry cold.  I thought about a nice run with Piper, but as the snow is really flying past the window, I think I'll wait a month or two.  The real tragedy is that I left my beer at the daughter place last week end..

"Cold enough for ya?"  Uff da!!!

Doug, your beer dilemma reminds me of those commercials out now (I think for Bud or Miller -- some domestic brand).  A couple show people delivering beer to grateful folks who are in a snow cave or partying in a mountain top cabin, etc.  The beer delivery people climb and hike through all kinds of brutal weather to get the beer to the customers.  Too bad you can't contact one of them for some help today!

As much as I wish I was in CT or MA with my family enjoying the gorgeous snowfall, temps that low are not what I'd enjoy!  Single digits with NO wind chill, maybe for a day or two (if the sun is out).  But the temps I'm hearing?  No thanks!  By some strange fluke of weather, we've got a good bit of sun today, a welcome relief after days of fog.  I'm sure it won't last, but I'm enjoying it coming in my office window.

Speaking of sun and skies, the clouds and fog did some weird mix at sunset last night with a peak of light that made the sky look on fire.  I quickly took a photo with DH's phone.  I'll see if I can post it below.

Here's the view of the southwest sky from our backyard yesterday at sunset.  The photo doesn't do it justice -- it was gorgeous, but a little scary with the way the clouds were moving with that light.

That is a lovely sky Tacran, no chance of that here clear sky's all round.

Puzzle has been so soppy today, constantly wanting cuddles and wants to be with me all the time. Whilst barley has been asleep on bed all day until now as he has woken up and wants to go out for a walk, at 9 om he must be joking, its pitch black outside and  35 F

Tracy, what an incredible color!  Glad you're enjoying some sunshine today.  We've got sun too and more tomorrow.

Barley, you slept away walk time, silly boy.  Hope his limp is lessening.  Poor Puzzle.  She's puzzled about why she feels so weird. lol

Almost time to go home.  I've gotten some work done but was slowed down by our sub contractor's office manager and her zillions of questions.  Most of them I've answered multiple times.  I've written out detailed instructions for her but she asks the same things over and over. I don't know how they stay in business.  I've been trying to be very helpful and upbeat and encouraging but I am not seeing that she's picking up what she needs to learn.  I spoke to the owner of the business today and even he seemed very frustrated with her.  I had to bite my tongue when talking to him so I didn't say too much. Hopefully, it's just a matter of time and she'll start to understand it and be able to do it without me.  We have to use a sub contractor on this project but we may have to find a new one if this goes on much longer.

Tracy, that picture is gorgeous!  Doug, that's a true problem and I, too, was reminded of the commercials Tracy wrote about. Jackie, I hope your work issues get worked out soon. That is frustrating. Barley, I hope you limp is better. How is Hot feeling tonight?

It's cold here--with wind to make it really cold. I stopped looking at the wind chill numbers--any time there's a minus sign, I try not to look, 'cuz I don't want to see it. It's supposed to "warm up" tomorrow then get cold again.

I know I've forgotten someone...know I'm thinking of everyone! Stay warm.

Tracy - that is a beautiful picture!!! No clouds here either.  Sunny and even close to 70 this afternoon. I wish I could share it with everyone dealing with the nasty snow. I'm glad I don't have to worry about running out of wine and not being able to get to the store. Whew!!

Jackie - I know what that rut feels like and usually feel the same way at this time of year. With all the inside DIY projects, I've not felt it lately. I actually did a few hours of yard work yesterday and today. It felt soooo good to be outside and doing something physical.

I took Shane for a nice long walk this morning and on the way back home, stopped at the library and got a new card. I had one but it was from a different county and have decided I want to check out some ebooks. I bought the latest John Grisham book, Sycamore Row and have really enjoyed reading a good book again.

Great picture Tracy...the colors are really lovely.

So, minus 3, windchill minus 21.  Thank heavens we heat with natural gas now.....propane prices are through the roof and that stuff goes fast.

I worked the bulk of the day in winter tights, thermals, jeans and wool socks.  About the same on top, but two sweaters over the rest of it and a jacket.  My turtle fur around my ears like a wide headband and ski gloves.  Stopped home and dumped the thermals before I went to the office, and then wished that I hadn't.  Brrrrrr!  On the plus side, we had a lot of lovely sunshine.......
