    Sat AM- pre xmas

It's a lovely day.  Okay, I lied.  But it's not too bad.  Warm for Dec, a good overcast for those with SAD.  You can almost smell the lutefisk soaking to remove the lye-but that might just be the dog needing a bath.

When I bought my new tires, Ford was offering two deals.  Buy 3, get the forth free.  Then, on top of that, $140 off if you sign up for a Ford credit card.  I don't like to have a lot of CC around, but apparently $140 is my tipping point.  I spent an hour trying to set up their website so that I could pay the card on line.  Then, I wrote a check and mailed it.  If the computer made my life any easier, I would probably drink a lot more.

Off tomorrow to the sons house for the extended family Xmas.  Probably be about 40 people present.  A little drink, a lot of food.  Good times.

Drive carefully.  Have a good holiday.

    LOL Doug and Merry Christmas!!

I've been so absent from the forum lately and hope I haven't missed any big news. It's just been super busy at work and home lately. I'm off for 2 weeks and hoping to recharge my batteries.

We took MIL out for Christmas dinner last night and she about fell over when she opened the IPad we all gave her. I think she'll get a lot of use out of it. Her boyfriend was hacking and coughing and I woke up with a stuffed up head and earache. I thought it was bad allergies but soon realized it's a head cold :(.

We're hosting Christmas Eve here and I decided to go with my lasagna, salad and garlic bread. Easy and mostly foolproof. I'm also baking cookies as gifts, so the next few days will be busy.

Still no sign of rain in the forecast and while I'm loving the sunshine, we're going to be in trouble if this continues.

Does anyone have a Fresh Market where they live? I went to one today for the 1st time and it's a lot like Whole Foods. I could've spent a fortune and a few hours in there.

Merry Christmas Doug!  40 people are a LOT!  I think I'd get antsy.

I haven't been around much either Cathy.  Work has been absolutely insane this past week.  But, I had an exceptionally good week, so can't complain.  But, I am tired as heck.

Last nite the darned coughing woke me up repeatedly, and then the alarm went off at 5:30.  I forgot to shut it off from yesterday so it decided to make my day......

Holy cow the grocery store was absolutely mobbed today.  I probably forgot half the stuff on my mental list because it was so mobbed in there....can't focus with that many bodies fighting for a square inch of space.  However, if I don't have it now, I'm not gonna get it.  I'm not going near a store until well after Christmas.  I've got veggies for the veggie tray, humus and dips,  meat and cheese for that one, shrimp for the spoiled hubby AND I remembered the lemons this year, and a lovely standing rib roast for dinner.  That's it for food.  We don't need another darned thing.

I think in the morning I'll do some Christmas wrapping and get that out of the way. I finished the tail end of the shopping last night, other than the marrow bones I picked up for the boys today.  My little tree is still naked, think I'll get the stuff out and let DH go to it.  I have no spirit for decorating this year.  Zip.  And, still haven't figured out where the heck I put the Christmas place mats and stuff.  Hmmmm.

Thankfully, I'm off until next Friday.  Everyone else, except for me and the other guy who works this area started vacation on Friday morning.  We had the papers to drop for our clients, since our paper comes out on Friday mornings.  We'll just take next Friday morning off I guess.  No paper on the 27th so no need to get up early and take them around.  I really NEED a few days off.  Then we get all of NY Eve and of course NY Day off.  Going to make for a really screwy week though.  But, perhaps MY batteries will recharge, and with any luck I'll get my voice back.

I finishing my grading about 9 last night. Now, I need to get in the holiday mood, shop for the last minute things, and bake.  We just got my parents' tree inside today and got the lights on it. That might be it for tonight!

Cathy, I'm on my way for the lasagna dinner. That sounds yummy. Glenda, I'm glad you're getting a bit of a break. I do hope you get your voice back. Doug,, that sounds like a huge gathering! We'll have 7 here for Christmas dinner--that's big enough for me.
