    Where to start today?

Work? Laundry? Cleaning? Gym? Shopping? Packing? Cleaning out the car? Takeyour pick! They all sound fun. I want to work abbie too today at some point before it starts raining. The dogs all need exercised. Where will I find the energy?

I'd offer some of mine Julie, but.....don't have any of my own.  Zilch.  I've got a mega busy day with tons that needs doing, and I'd rather just go back to bed!

Pipers annual wellness check today.  She is well.  Losing muscle mass on rear, joints swollen, heart murmur, eyes starting to cloud a little, but still mobil and eager to hunt.  She put up 5 pheasants yesterday.  About 100 ft into the "No Hunting" area.  But she is used to putting birds up, and not having to retrieve any. She actually gets into her rolling fast walk hunting gait once in a while.  Tail is just a blur. She is 13, almost 14 now.

Today is a dark and windy day.  A little rain thrown in just for fun.  On the plus side, my leaves seem to be across the street now.(My neighbor vacuums his yard.  I think he hates me)

Yay for a good check-up for Piper and her enjoying some hunting :)

A good friend found out their lab's cancer has returned and likely in or affecting the heart. They're treasuring their lasts days with their boy and I'm feeling super sad for them.

I've had a hard time getting anything done this morning. I tried taking the Zyrtec when I got up and am wondering if I'm feeling zoned out because it or just having one of those days. I guess it's going to take a few days to figure it out. I sure did sleep well without it last night and my allergies seem better too. I'm about to head outside for some yard work, so I'll see just how good it is.

DH left me firewood near the door for our wood stove and I'm going to tell him I'm flattered by what he seems to think I'm capable of lifting. Some of the logs must weigh 20 lbs and are huge and awkward to get into the stove. Yeesh!!! Once they get going, they last a long time though and I'm loving using the stove vs. our heater.

Speaking of DH and on a more positive note, he bought a small radiant heater for our master bathroom that he's connected to a timer set to go off at 5 AM every morning. The wood stove does an amazing job of heating the living areas but zilch for our bedroom/bathroom. The mornings have been brutally cold but I hadn't said a word, so I was touched that he thought of this. :)

Yay for a good check up!

And, yes, that was really sweet of your hubs, Cathy.

I managed to get the blasted grocery shopping finished, and stuff put away.  Now I've got to fix something for dinner.  I'd have hubs take me out, but we got take out last night so the guys would likely appreciate something home made tonight.  Maybe burgers.  Those are pretty quick and easy.

The Bay is gorgeous today! The water is calm and the moon is full. I went to a quilting class and learned how to do applique for a landscape quilt. I picked the smaller option--birch trees and snow in woods. I was always afraid of applique but it seems manageable. When it' done, I'll try to post a picture.

I'm glad Piper had a good check-up! It's heck getting old, but it sure sounds like she still loves to put up birds!

Cathy, I'm so sorry to hear about your friends' lab. Yeah for your hubby putting in the heater.

I forgot to post a note about Abbie's picture from a week or so ago--I think she was playing with her frisbee during/after training and looked like she was so enjoying life!

There's not much else from here. I do need to start thinking about the menu for Thanksgiving...
