    Tues 11-12-13 chat

The ground is covered in white. The sun is shining and the birds are singing. Kind of a pretty morning :)

The dogs are content today for the first time in a while. We spent the weekend in the tree house at my friends cabin. They got to run, play, chase 4 wheelers and swim with their bloodhound buddy. This all resulted in 3 dog baths and lots of laundry in the end though heh.

I might be living in Boulder for a few weeks here soon. Getting kind of excited but have to get all of the details worked out. I thought it was going to be for a shorter period of time and was going to leave the dogs home, but they want me out there for longer so I will have to figure out how to bring the dogs with me I am thinking. Not sure how in the heck that will work though. 3 dogs in a hotel while I work during the day? Anyone have any thoughts on how to make that work?

We only had a dusting of snow here - and I am not complaining! I'm not ready to shovel yet.

It really bugs me when people volunteer to do things, don't take care of them, then act all huffy when someone else steps up with a solution. After the meeting I had last night, I am so ready for Thursday to come - I need this massage in the worst way.

Julie, I have no suggestions for your dogs, but it does sound like they had a great weekend. Is it snowing in Boulder this time of year? Probably.

i just checked the boulder weather cams and no snow yet. It is near 60 today and sunny. I could like that. :)

Speaking of massages, I have one scheduled today. yay.

Julie, sounds like a fun weekend for you and the dogs.  I've got no idea on how staying in a hotel, with three dogs, for an extended time would work.  Maybe a dog walker could be found to help take the edge off while you're at work.

No snow here but you all probably guessed as much. :)

Tina, sorry your meeting was crappy.  I don't seem to do well in clubs or groups anymore.  I have no patience for people who don't live up to their commitments and every single group seems to have at least one person who fits that description.  I am mellowing in some regards as I age but in other areas, I'm getting more curmudgeonly.

I'm teaching Gabby to target my hand.  I have a plan for this behavior.  Gabby doesn't care what the plan is as long as it involves the clicker and treats. :)

Julie - I have no idea how you'll manage 3 dogs in a hotel. The 1st thing I'd be checking is if there is a hotel that'll allow that many dogs. If so, then maybe you could check on doggie daycare nearby. I hope it'll all work out for you.

I emailed my dr. last night about the allergy-related ear pain I'm having again. It was this time last year that it got so bad and I saw her the 1st time. I've been taking a generic Claritin everyday since then plus using a steroid nasal spray. It seemed to be doing the trick up until the last week or so. She said I should switch to Zyrtec but take it at night and she prescribed a different nasal spray. I love being able to communicate with her like that and to get a response in 20 min's is awesome. Hopefully her suggestions will do the trick.

Actually had a little rain driving in. Just enough to make a dirty car look really yucky :).

Getting no snow here today but  it is cold!

Going to the Dr. with Ron, another check up then we are having lunch together

    Have a good day all.

Gee, guys, thanks for sharing the snow and the cold.  Not even an inch, but the dogs were not happy campers about having to go out in it!  I so don't want cold and snow, but, that's what I get for living in the North.

Where the heck is Callie lately?  Sure hope she's ok.

Must get ad copy scanned in and emailed.  Is it 5:00 yet?  Better, is it FRIDAY yet!?

Ok, I need an etiquette check....

Aaron's 1st birthday is coming up, and we're having it at a little sub shop near where we live.  We're having it there b/c our house is just WAY too small to have more than 2 extra people comfortably and the people at that place LOVE Aaron (and I think they are as excited for his birthday as I am).

We are having a cake of course, but what I'm not sure of is, should we buy pizza for everyone, or have everyone pay their own way (and then of course they can have whatever they want)?

We do group dinners a lot, and usually everyone pays for themselves, but since this is his birthday (read: special event) are we supposed to cover it?

ETA: it will mostly be family and a few close friends, if that makes a difference

Can he really be almost 1 already?   This is a good question.  I would suggest that you see if your local place would allow a special price for X number of people..  If the guests were children I would say you should pay.  Knowing that most 1st birthdays are for the adults that are family and friends maybe the invitations could say    "Cake and refreshments will be provided."  You can do drinks/ice cream and that will allow the guests to decide if they want additional food. You may want to verify that the local shop will not be put off if not everyone chooses to buy a meal.

    Good to see you Steph
