Another Corey agility video

    Another Corey agility video

This was from this past weekend. I take a fall on this one, when Corey and I collide as he is coming out of the chute. I jumped up as fast as I went down as I yell, we gotta finish this. We had only 2 jumps to go! By golly we made it..... by 3/10's of a second. And I didn't end up with any broken bones. This was our last trial until the Nationals in Tennessee.

    Enjoy

    Maureen

I just tried to play this and since it is imbedded right in the post it is playing choppy for me. It didn't play like that on the you tube link. Hope it plays okay for others.

Cool Video and way to go Corey!  As you are MaureenNY I am hoping you are somewhere downstate and could maybe direct me to some agility places in westchester, putnam, rockland county etc? My dog loves Agility, specifically the tunnel. When he was younger we were told he had a future in tunneling but we never did anything about it on a real competitive level. The place I used to go to rented out their agility area so I am looking for another place that would let us just come and rent the area or some such so Diego could go back and forth through the tunnel for about an hour.  Sounds silly but that's what he loves. I bought a tunnel for our yard but somehow he only likes it if it is in a whole course. Who knows but its worth it to see him in such joy so if you know a place, please message me or let me know .

I thought I saw a couple rain drops in the foreground of the video, so I bet that grass was slick.  No wonder you took a tumble.  Only because you said you didn't get hurt, I felt it was okay that I chuckled a bit.  :-)  It would've been terrible if you and/or Corey go hurt!

I would've been so embarrassed, but you stayed focused on what you needed to do to finish.  A true demonstration of "the show must go on!"

When are the Nationals?  I hope you guys do well!

Sorry can't help you out with any suggestions of places to go. I'm from Central NY ...up Lake Ontario way. All I can say is try google to see if  you might be able to find something. Why not just go for it and take some agility classes. There are probably training centers somewhere around you. You don't have to be a competitor to take classes. Some people just do it for something for their dogs to do. It's great fun for dog and their humans too.

It was a horrible rainy day. It rained pretty much all day and so yes, the grass was slick. I think I would have fallen anyway, as we collided with one another. Okay that you chuckled... I did too :) Yup, "the show must go on." Like that! No time for embarrassment until after you are done. I was just like.....Man, we only have two jumps left and the run has been clean so far. We have to finish this! I really thought we would be over time though and was quite shocked when the timer told me we had made it. Nationals are later on in October. I really don't expect very much at Nationals. It's just something to get there. For many of the top competitors agility is their business and so they are involved with it daily. Many compete at World competitions as well. Even if we made it in the top 50% that would be quite an accomplishment. It's just a great time being there and we like to travel so that is a good time as well.

I tried opening the video again and it is still playing very weird for me. It jumps from one place to another during some of it. If you put your mouse on it and right click, then go to copy URL and then paste in the address bar and reload you will get the video on the youtube site and it plays much better there...least for me it does.

Thanks for the suggestions NYmaureen. Its really hard to find a good place down here (metro NY area) as so many places are inside or otherwise small....

Thanks Elizabeth. Very strange as it plays okay on my kindle but not my computer. When I go direct to youtube it plays okay though, with both computer and kindle.

Just watched and it played fine without being jumpy.  Corey is obviously an agility maniac!  Congrats on squeaking through by 3/10ths of a second.  Way to jump up and move after you slipped and fell.  You can't run dogs in any sport without taking a tumble now and then.  I've tumbled right down an incline into the water. Dog stayed back and laughed. :)

    Good luck at Nationals.

Thanks for all of your comments and letting me know how the video played on your computers. Still baffles me on how it doesn't play properly, on my computer only, when I open it from here. Jackie, I trust you didn't hurt yourself when you tumbled down the incline. You did "paint" a funny picture of your dog standing at the top of the hill laughing. I fell in the woods one time, when I was training for search and rescue, and cracked a couple of ribs. That was quite some time ago. They must not have hurt too bad, as I got back up and continued our search.... and we were successful.
