    Wednesday chat

I really can't tell but it doesn't look like there is one started already.  Mid-week already (thank Heavens).

Hopefully we can convince the Boss that Labor Day is a real holiday that we should have off!!

I don't see another thread so it looks like it is you and me today!

Yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of Little Man being adopted into our family, so it was his family day.  We all played hookie and went to an indoor amusement park where we spent a wholloping 6 hours!   His first roller-coaster ride was with me after he stood straight and slightly on his tip-toes to get on.  :)  We all had so much fun together.

Today we are back to business except that I have a theme-park, Game of Thrones marathon, heat or something headache going on.

I'm looking forward to a nice, normal day at work.

Wow -- "family day" sounds awesome.  I'm into the wintergreen oil already for my *own* headache -- but it's WAY faster than Tylenol.  Peanut butter granola bar and coffee -- best breakfast around!! LO

Happy to report that coffee, air conditioning, a Cadbury fruit & nut bar imported from Europe (it makes a difference) and a few hours of wakefulness have cured the headache.

Wintergreen oil sounds good too but I've had to watch how many things I have in the house with a very curious 4 yr old around!

The first time I went to Scotland to see David/meet his family -- when I saw a Cadbury machine I gave a whoop (I mean in the States it's not considered cheap chocolate - even tho it really is).  My father-in-law & sister-in-law to be thot it was the funniest thing that this Yankee thot **Cadbury** was something special!!  I got Cadbury from the entire family for Christmas that year.  It was pretty funny.  But yeah -- it SO makes a difference.

Congrats Sarah on your 1 year anniversary as a family. I like the tip toes onto rides. For the Grange Fair this year, we put my niece in her tallest shoes, and had her stand up as straight as possible, and she made it onto the 36" rides depending upon who was measuring. I got her on the Scrambler, which is much more comfortable to ride without a tiny person. 6 hours at the park is pretty good for a little kid.

My mom, sister, the baby, and the idiot boyfriend are on their way here. Last time my sister checked in, about 15 minutes about, they were in Richmond, VA. It's about 4.5 hours away without stops or traffic, but they have at least one more stop on their way. I'll be home from work around 6, and I imagine they'll be here maybe a bit before I get back. I'll  be glad to get my car back too.

I have a feeling like the nurse yesterday screwed up

My shots. I have only ever reacted to the lower right, and I reacted to the lower left. That really shouldn't occur in maintenance I think because I have already had this dose numerous times. She didn't ask my date of birth, so I am suspect.

Jen, I hope whatever reaction you've got going on is just a mild one.  Is your sister and the new baby coming to live with you guys?  And how was your birthday?

I wish you guys hadn't brought up Cadbury . . . I'm sitting here craving chocolate and trying to talk myself out of walking to the store to buy a snack.  I had my teeth cleaned this morning, so I'd like to try to keep sugar off them for half a day, at least!  I'm not sure my will power will hold up.

Happy Adoption Day, Little Man (one day late)!  Sounds like fun day of celebration.

Callie, yes they are all coming to live with us. Oh joy. Can you feel the enthusiasm?

It's not a harmful reaction persay, just a big red hot spot, almost like a big bug bite. It's like the size of my palm, and its been over 24 hours. If it were during build up, they'd hold me at the same dose for the next one. I have no clue what happens in maintenance. Sometimes I've had tiny spots no bigger than maybe a half dollar that were there for about a day on other ones (I get 4) but only ever big multi day things on the right lower. Thus, I suspect what I got in the left lower is my right lower shot.

Right now I'm so thirsty I could just expire (and as they say in Floor-daaa -- "If you are already thirsty you are ALREADY dehydrated".  There's an orange San Pellegrino in my refrigerator at home with MY name on it (aside from the fact David doesn't care for them LOL).

We've gotten so we buy zero "pop" anymore -- but we buy tons of sparkling water.  We both prefer it -- zero calories -- no artificial nothing ... WIN.  Absolutely guilt-free.  I can deal with that.

The pug decided the air conditioning in the house was too high for her this morning -- SHE wasn't about to go in her crate until I changed how the air flow is.  My first clue was she had burrowed UNDER the blankets on my side of the bed before I got out of there this morning and not even a little brachiocephalic nose was showing above.  The funny part is -- she gets into more trouble when I am home than she ever does if I don't crate her (and she normally is in her crate WAY before I'm ready to leave cos Mom gives treats).  But this morning? Nope -- treat in the hand is NOT worth being chilly.  LOL

Again I ask -- who exactly is trained here?

    • Gold Top Dog

LOL - Morrison is also a blanket burrower.  These days are far too hot for our little Minnesota air conditioner so there are no blankets in use, anywhere.

I just discovered that my best friend, her hubby and two smaller kids are coming to stay with us this weekend, a 7 hour drive for them.  Yay for having BFF here but I don't know where the kids are going to sleep!

Last time they stayed we didn't have Little Man yet so....  We have one guest room and I think the 7 yr old is going to camp out in the family room.  I'll even put up the dome tent for him.

I love them but I already feel like this week has been busy enough!  Yikes!

*sigh* had some work done on the ductwork under the house -- so the air is way more "efficient' than it was -- and I've had a fan on in the bedroom because it's been so hot.  I just turned it out of the way last night -- and the pug's crate was getting air that bounced off a wall -- HER wuz COLD!!  Texas born, Flooor-daaa reared -- she doesn't like it too hot, nor too cold.  Let's get that thermostat RIGHT Mom!!
