This is a beta, tell them what still isn't working

Just finally figured out how to post and I just say I dislike this new format. It's way too confusing so much layers to get to anything. I really miss the old forum look where things where all on one page with each clear section instead of this blog look. I feel like I'm messing with rubric cube have to go through this, this, and this just to get to what I want after getting lot a few times. I can't really tell you much on what to fix because just finding my way to here with just discouraging enough that I don't want to look through the rest of this disaster.  If this is the new look to stay then I will be gone. I rather go to other forum this is simply and straight forward then to deal with this nightmare.

Phew, you guys have been busy. Great. Appreciate all your hard work. Yes

    In order:

    1) @kpwlee: The problem with mobile phones appears to be caused by a slight delay in loading the rich formatting version of the editor. If you wait a few seconds, it will load or you can click on the 'Use rich formatting button'. To save time, you might want to set your account up to use rich formatting as default. It's an option. Either click on your profile picture/avatar at the top right and account settings, then Site Options, Content Editor, 'Enhanced'.

    2) @VanMorrison: We are redesigning the forum thread view, posts and grid to incorporate dates. Sorry that this wasn't in at the start.

    3) @marty_ga: In terms of shortcuts to the forums, we will be adding multiple ways of going straight to your forum of choice from anywhere in the site. This is coming *soon*. We're also going to be developing a better set of help pages.

    4) The slow loading issue should be largely resolved. The site is still a work in progress and so is being regularly updated. During these times, you may see reductions in performance, but we are trying to keep these to a minimum.

    5) @jackieG: We'll investigate the cut and paste issue and come back to you. This may require a re-design.

    6) @CoBuHe: This happened for a few reasons. We moved over every single post in the history of the old community. And we need to edit some of the old posts, stickies, etc. This will be done next week. We've also made improvements that should have already made this less obvious.

    7) @miranadobe: Glad it looks good on your phone. We did design this with mobile in mind, but we've got more improvements planned.

    8) @VanMorrison: Glad you noticed the change to reply sorting. No, site root errors shouldn't happen. Can you provide more detail?

    9) @bluelighting: Actually, there is an improved version of the old forums here: http://community.dog.com/g/ It's not perfect, but may be more familiar to you. We're going to be making improvements to bring together the best of the new and old experiences.

    More updates to follow soon.

Maybe I'm just missing it, but I can't figure out how to send a PM.  I went to the member's profile, but couldn't find anything that looked like "send message".  I went to my inbox and there is a "new message" button there but when I type the member's name it says "not found".

Just sent you a PM TheDogHouseBCMPD. Can you let me know the username and I can see if there's an issue.

    • Gold Top Dog

Same comment as Steph (Doghouse) ... I was just now trying to send YOU one and when I first click on your name I get a fleeting option to 'send message' but it's too fast and by the time I get my mouse there it has taken me all the way to your decription and there is no option there to "send message".

    • Gold Top Dog

OK. Few ways of doing this. If you go to MyChannel from the navigation bar and then choose Inbox, you can create a new message. I think you are doing this by going to my name and clicking send a private message, right? You can also click on the email envelope icon at the top right to get to your messages. The number will go up when you get a message and there's a little link to retrieve them. It's not as obvious as it will be. Hope that helps!

I was actually trying to PM Callie :D

I ended up just "replying to conversation" on an old PM from her.

Callie, did you get it?  I tried emailing you the other day, but I'm not sure I got it right, 1 bounced back, so I don't know. (clearly that is not an issue w/ this site, just giving more explanation than probably necessary)

OK so should join us as she figured this out... You have to make sure you either friend the people you want to message or change your settings to accept messages from any member.

Jon -- Steph (Doghouse LOL) is actually one of those folks I've known for years on Dog.com and we've 'met' -- so you could say neither of us are shy.  /

Yes Steph -- I got it -- and I have to talk to David at dinner about the dates to see if we can do that.

Jon -- clicking on your name to send a private message would be the intruitive way to do it.  BUT ... the bubble that appears immediately with your name and "Send a Private Message" is ***so*** fleeting you can't get there to click on it before it disappears.  Then it takes me to your profile and there is no where *to* click to send you a private message that I can find.  There is a glitch there with that button (and some of the other "choices";) and I'm just not fast enough to catch it before it goes away
