I used the microwave to dry basil, oregano, thyme, catnip, bee balm, sage, and others.
Rinse off (dirt and bugs), place on a paper towel, place another paper towel over, and put in microwave. I had a LOT of herbs the years I did this, so I'd test the first batch or 2 to see what time and % I needed for each herb. I ended up doing huge batches, not single layers. Most took 2 minutes at about 60% as I recall -- but I don't remember what the wattage was on that microwave, so that percentage is really no help.
You have to stay RIGHT THERE as the paper towel will flame if it gets too hot before the herb dries. IF that happens, shut off but don't open door; no air so the fire dies right out.
Then I stored the dried herbs in baggies. If the herbs were not completely dried, they would mold in the baggie.
