Tina, we've got several companies that offer poop pickup service.  I would think this is much more successful in a large city.

I think so, too, although in April, once the snow melts and everyone has a yard full of soupy poop, one could make a killing around here.

Deb, I just took a trip down the rabbit hole of online recipes initiated by your links. LOL.

DH still hasn't called but I was able to do some back work and figure out why his customer has encountered this problem. Sigh.

Back to the grind, thanks for the mental vacation, Deb!

Jackie:  I just looked up the book you recommended on Amazon.  I took one glance and immediately bought it.  Can't wait to read it !!

I'm going to check to see if the book is available on the Kindle. Since the move, I haven't had time to read anything more than an article in a magazine, so I'm ready for something better.

Sarah - I think you should absolutely stick to your guns and I want to come have breakfast at your house :)

I'm going to try to locate a bat exterminator today. The area on the far side of the house seems worse to me (poop on the ground) and I don't want DH trying to solve this problem. This should be interesting.

A coworkers 5 y.o. granddaughter is going through a last ditch effort to buy her some time. She's been battling cancer for the last 2 yrs and the journey has been a series of highs and lows. In July, they found out that she's terminal and the cancer has spread, so they're just trying to keep her comfortable. Last weekend, she woke up and her speech was garbled. I read today that it's worse and obviously not a good sign. If you could spare a prayer, they could sure use one or many. The child's name is Abby Grace.

What a beautiful name for such a little girl going through such a horrible time.  She'll be in my thoughts.

Bring on the tequila folks - I've done all I can do to secure the contract. Now I won't know for a week + BUT it is freaking over!

Dang Cathy! That is so sad! I agree with deb! What a beautiful name. I hope her last days are not filled with pain. Her poor family must be going through hell.

Lol deb, I need that fairy.

I have paid a poop scooping service in the spring before. Best $50 ever spent.

    Good luck Karen!

My *** storm at work only ended up being a lot of Thunder but no rain :) everyone had time to cool off so they actually listened to reason. All is well. Now I just have to get caught up so can go away again next week.

    Oh my, prayers being sent

Prayers for Abby Grace have been sent and for her family.  It breaks my heart to hear of children facing this.

We just had a nice soaking rain, just about right.  We have had so much rain this year that my lawn is looking great and filling back in where the years of drought took it's toll.  However, last spring I bought some timers for my lawn sprinklers because of water restrictions, and I haven't even cracked open the packages!  Oh well...

Thoughts for Abby Grace. That's just terrible for such a young kid to face that.

Puppy update- my niece loves him. It's her best friend. Also, we almost just lost him. He was playing with Callie, and the clip on his harness broke open. Luckily, I was able to get him to chase me into the house. I'll have to put him in one of Luke's old collars for tonight to be safe, and get him a good harness tomorrow.

In other weird kid stuff- I ate a spoonful of macaroni out of the pot. My niece saw this, and decided obviously, that macaroni from the pot is better. She dumped hers back in the pot and ate it from there.

One of my coworkers adopted a shepherd type dog about 6 months ago. The dog, about 10 yrs old was having difficulty walking last week, with swelling across the spine. She took it to my vet, who tried cortisone, with a reduction of pain. X ray showed degeneration of the spine. The discs were crumbling in one area, possibly from a previous injury. Vet recommended euth, as there was no really good outcome from surgery and pain would be severe. Coworker is now in the second guessing stage that follows when you have your baby euthed. Words don't seem to help much. i trusty my vet with my baby, so I believe this was the least bad option. Don't know if I helped her or not.

Awww Doug - that's sad but I'm betting that you did help with your words. It sounds as though the right decision was made. Good thoughts for your coworker.

DH said he had a rough shift and didn't get much sleep but you'd have thought he was the energizer bunny today. He decided to do more tree trimming and there were a few times that I held my breath but it all turned out well. The only problem is we now have an even larger pile(s) of limbs and branches. Now we're looking at purchasing a wood chipper. *sigh*

So, the puppy still hasn't eaten except the hotdogs he's had as treats.

And, that part where I am allergic to dogs, yeah, I am allergic to dogs.  Like dogs that are not my own- horrible. I am trying to write something for work, or mostly reformat it, while sneezing my brains out,  throwing a ball for Luke and teaching the puppy not to jump up on me. Fun times.
