    Is it Sunday already?

Where did the weekend go? Have I mentioned it is pretty cold here? I think I need a long sleeve performance shirt or 2. It is not hot enough for cold weather gear but not really warm enough for t-shirts and shorts. Where the money tree when I need it? I have to run abbie down to a friends for the week. This will be the first time she is being watched away from home. I'm going to be so worried about her and I know she will be confused when I leave without her. I'm sure her face will break my heart. I also hope she behaves. .my friend have a bloodhound who is one huge bull dozer. I imagine she is a lot like bugsy but with less manners lol. She ignores growls from other dogs and just acts like a clown. She totally in your face and relentless about playing. I can't believe abbie tolerates her but she does! She seems to like the little trouble maker. So hopefully all will be well.

We have 50ºF. No ice or snow yet, but it might be time to plan.

The Vikings (football) are in Mankato for their training session. I only watch football on TV, and then only when the Vikings are losing the Superbowl, which has happened multiple times. My boss is a vendor to them, by providing a hot tub, and we get passes to places the public doesn't. So Saturday AM, we have the grandkids down and I answer my cell phone. Boss is on his way to his boat, and the hot tub is cold. I took my 8 year old sport fanatic grandson along. We walked through the Vikings shower room into the pool area. GS met two Vikings who wanted to use the cold tub, got to use the same toilet used by the Vikings, and got two hats and a shirt. Not a bad Sat AM. Now, I need to talk with the electrician who wired in the tub. The electrical diagram was ignored, with 20A circuit to the heater and 30A to the rest. The heater draws 25A.

Piper, being almost deaf, had no problem with the kids noise level, and as they are short and tend to drop things on the floor, the grazing was good. They also know how to pet a dog and how to let a sleeping dog alone.

Time to grab a coat and talk the pup for her walk.

and maybe just slightly more slobber :)

I know, it is not only Sunday but its noon here. I didn't do much yesterday exercise-wise and want to today but my motivation has been low. Soooo tired of the constant wet weather and super humid days

Speaking of bugsy, he was happy beyond containment this morning - he had his first friend over since the surgery. His Sunday morning lab mix friend, she's super lazy so I knew it would be easy to contain. She was predictably calm, he on the other hand was predictably insane. I know I shouldn't laugh at him sometimes but he really is darn funny. At one point he attempted to do zoomies and get her to join him INSIDE! I sent them out and he went off doing his "my butt is on fire" running around the yard while she just looked at him and flopped on the deck.

I did a bit of cleaning and now am going to finish reading the paper and decide whether to hit the lake or hit a trail.

    Doug good to see you

Abbie I know at first you'll be stressed but it will be OK and Julie I am sure the person she is with will know when to separate the dogs to keep Abbie from getting too stressed. If the bloodhound really doesn't take clues (as B doesn't) its important that they are separated by the human. I do that with B sometimes because he has some bizarre need to 'win' over the dog that really wants no part of him.

Yeah my friends are very aware of how abbie needs breaks and alone time every so often. She plays with the bloodhoundbut once abbie decides it is nap time she expects everyone else to take a nap too and gets grouchy if they don't agree.

Sounds like b had a good time!

    Brrrr

Nothing exciting going on here.  Laundry, house cleaning, grocery, more laundry.  Grilling some chicken breasts and asparagus.  Fruit salad for desert.   The heat has all of us lazy and not wanting to get outside for any reason.

I did trap a tom cat this morning.

Jullie, have fun next week.  Abbie will be fine but I know that look you speak of and it's hard to take.

Karen, poor B.  He needs Gabby to come visit but she'd not be a calm playmante.  She would enjoy the butt on fire zoomies though. lol

    Thinking of Sandie and Leslie.

Yes B had a good time, he was limping afterward but I am sadly getting to a place where I think it's with us permanently. I try to think "he's happy"

    Yea for cat trapping

Julie sounds like Abbie will be in great hands.

I took a really long walk and then sat outside for a bit. I put a box fan out with me, I've heard it helps with the mosquitoes and it seemed to.

That's all I've got, not looking forward to Monday morning

My nut bucket dog ripped off a good chunk off dew claw this weekend trying to dig his way out of his crate at the flyball tournament. His trainer thought he was running like his foot was hurting, so we were checking his pads, and found nothing. I probably would have never figured it out had I not found a chunk of nail floating in his water bucket. Some dogs get their feet wrapped for when they run, Luke will get his feet covered when he's in the crate.

    poor Luke - ouch!! :(

Thinking of Sandie and Leslie still :(. It's brought back the memory of losing Sassy and made me sad. With Buffy and her age and slow decline, I felt like I grieved losing her for months but with Sassy it was such a shock. I know how heartwrenching it can be and wouldn't wish it on anyone. :(

My back and knees hurt from all the work I've done outside the last 2 days but I feel good when I look around. There's still so much to do but it's definitely getting better and I can see the beautiful possibilities. There's one area right below the deck of the master bedroom that was so covered in weeds, I didn't know there was a path with stepping stones in there. It looks 100% better but now I need to figure out how I want to landscape it.

Tom cat Jackie? The encounter with the feral cat wasn't enough? ;)

I tried putting socks on Luke earlier to see if the ones we had around would fit, and I can test them out in class on Friday night. He refused to let me put one on the foot he ripped the claw off of. Poor little pup. I have no clue when he ripped it off, because I only saw it when we were packing up.

A day full of chores and "stuff" but I got a lot done.  Feeling bad about Sandie & Leslie *sigh* - no time to even absorb what happened.  so so sad.
