Happy Birthday, Callie!!! Let's see . . . if I followed the math of your "reverse counting" correctly, I think this is a milestone birthday, right? I hope you had a very special day, with lots of birthday cuddles from your dogs (even better than a favorite chocolate dessert, I think!).
Sharon, hope you're feeling better tomorrow.
Jackie, you're right --- that is one bizarre/disturbing story. I'm not sure what to say about the humans involved, but hopefully all turns out as well as possible for all those dogs.
Sharon, I had to look up ichthyosis -- I couldn't imagine what your blog post was about since I had no idea what that word was! :-) I hope you got some good feedback; we all like to get that in response to something we've worked on!
Stayed up talking until 2AM with my sister; she had to get back to Boston by noon, so we didn't sleep in as late as we'd have liked. Today my Mom and I ran a few errands -- she makes lists of things for us to do while I'm here because they're things she "can't handle" by herself. For example, she wanted to look into changing her cellphone plan. All I'll say is these kinds of tasks are frustrating due to her personality quirks.
Tonight we had dinner with one of my childhood friends. I hadn't seen her in well over 20 years (my Mom and her Mom keep in touch). We were in tears, laughing so hard about stories from when we lived in the same apartment complex when we were aged 8-12. Some of the stuff we remembered was hilarious. We had the same life situations - raised by single mothers who worked full time, so we were left alone in charge of our younger sisters (who are the same age) far too often. As a result, my friend and I have exaggerated senses of responsibility, taking life rather seriously, while our sisters were (still are) all about fun and not worrying about stuff so much. We decided the world needs people like us because if everyone was like our younger sisters, there would be no order in the world!
