Yikes - that photo is scary!  And Callie, I remember seeing news coverage of that woman trapped in her car, hanging by one wheel.  I would've died of fright.

Glenda, nice to "see" you!  And happy to hear that your office PITA is no longer there!

Sarah, I'm not on Facebook, so I'm glad you're posting here again.  I miss all kinds of news with a large number of members who are only on FB now.  Also -- your post yesterday about packing was very helpful!  I do lay everything out on the bed and try to coordinate outfits, but my wardrobe is a bit erratic -- too many different colors and patterns -- it's hard to find pieces that can multi-task into many outfits.  If I traveled more, I'd invest in a more travel-friendly wardrobe.  But bringing only 2 pair of shoes?  I don't know about that . . . that may be a challenge!

Vacations --- we basically don't take them.  We mostly got into this bad habit after becoming dog parents and being too paranoid to leave the dog with a sitter or in a kennel.  Also, since both our families live in different parts of the country, we use days off when they come to see us during the year (that's when it would be nice to both come from the same part of the country and still live there!)  Other than an overnight or two at our friends' cabin, we're lousy at planning getaways.  It's something I'd like to change about our lifestyle.

My trip to CT next week is the first time I've gone somewhere in 4-5 years.  In fact, yesterday it suddenly dawned on my boss that I will truly be GONE next week -- not just at home, hosting my Mom or other houseguests on my days off.  So yeah, I won't be able to pop in now and then to take care of any urgent issues.  We'll see how that works out since I'm the lone employee and no one does my work when I'm gone.  Another reason I don't like to go anywhere!

Joyce, that screen story is hilarious!  Wonder if she'll be an avant-garde interior decorator someday?!

Marty, I hope your Mom is okay in MA.  I don't know what it is about many seniors who balk at using the A/C.

The yugo thing happened in the late 90s I think. Another freak accident but it does give you an idea of how strong the winds get through there. Tina, this happened over night. The bridge was re-opened this morning without any damage. The state just released another photo from a different angel and wow. If I were that driver I would be needing a few shots of really strong whiskey or something! Man! He had a close call.

I never heard the story of that woman. Seriously, talk about those life and death moments!

Guess there is not much anyone can do to convince her otherwise...sigh.

I just keep telling my folks to turn it ON and LEAVE it on.   It's funny -- everyone will run their heat in the winter ... but NOT the air in the summer.  I kinda lectured my mother about the fact that she and Pa both have asthma so for heavens sake make it EASIER on your lungs!!  Turn the air on and get rid of the humidity!!  so now she's a lot better bout it. But they also dread that power bill.

I've gotta go make a post -- a friend of mine sent me a video of this guy coming 'home' after being gone for 6 months.  That dog was just plain about to come out of its skin it was so over-the-moon.  LOL cute

    Hey!  It's M&M's mom!  Howdy!

I am soooo ready for a good weekend!  It's more hot and humid than satan's butt crack around here.  Too hot to even lay out and get a tan unless you have a pool or you're at the lake or beach.  Neither of which are possible for me as I've been dog-sitting non-stop since May 16th.  Gretsch seems to be improving slightly with feeding him 3 meals a day now, so that is an improvement.  He's lost over 14lbs since this immune condition took over - it's horrible.

AAanyway!  Happy weekend to all!!  If you can believe it, my mom and I are going to see John Edward the psychic tonight. lol!  Tomorrow is my god-daughter's first birthday, then Sunday is the Pat Hastings Structure in Action seminar (my second time going. She is that good!)

It seems that there is a lot going on this weekend so I am officially working, from home, with a four year old. Please, wish me luck.

Try working from home with a 3 and 5-year-old! Indifferent

Julie - I heard on the radio news this morning that the UP is experiencing some serious horrific winds and that some big tractor/trailer had gotten "blown over" on a bridge of some sort?? What kind of havoc would that wreck on everyone.  I hope it's nowhere near you!!!

It has been windy here, but not too crazy. I actually hope it's really windy next week for our iDog vacation in the Porcupine Mountains. I've heard the mosquitoes and flies are horrible this year. I don't have to drive over the Mackinac bridge to get there, though. lol. And I don't think Julie will be driving a semi. haha

haha Joyce! I love it when kids are so honest and have no self-preservation lying skills yet.

They came back on Thursday and Aly went over to the rip and very proudly announced "I ripped this for you."  When I asked her why she ripped it, she said "to make it pretty for you."
    LOL!!!

That picture made my heart skip a few beats. Yikes!!! :(
