    Thursday Chat *yawns*

As tired as I am, I woke up at 3:00 and couldn't get back to sleep for thinking of this work thing and the snoring DH didn't help.  Ack!!  I need my sleep. lol

Deb, I'm so glad the geek was able to save your stuff.  I'm lucky to have my own personal geek though he drives me a little batty sometimes with his geekiness.

Karen, I know what you mean about the depressing news getting you down.  I know your gloomy weather isn't helping.

Tina, I'm glad you like your hair cut.  I need one desperately and think I'll try to get one Saturday, if I remember to call for an appointment.

I got home late late from work yesterday, late for me anyway.  DH was outside playing with the dogs so I joined them.  Out of nowhere, it seemed, a dog turd appeared on the patio.  We were so puzzled about where it came from.  I cleaned it up.  Then another appeared.  WTH?  We finally figured it out.  Belle had stopped playing long enough to poop (she's shy and goes out of our sight) but apparently she had a few danglers (both turds had grass in them).  When she came on the porch to bring the ball back to be thrown again, they must have dropped off, one at a time.  Thank goodness for a reasonable explaination.  For a few seconds we thought it was raining dog poop. Surprise

Oh my the raining poop story gave me a good laugh.

Hoping you don't have a super long day today too, Jackie. I never sleep much when I am under pressure with work. And having a snoring DH myself I know how unhelpful that is. Grab some smelling salts on your way to the office, just in case!

We had another massive storm last night but are supposed to be clear for TWO WHOLE DAYS!!!! I am very excited about this!

Bugsy will be having his first acupuncture today, well we will be attempting it anyway.

Deb so glad your geek was able to get things sorted. Hmmm can't recall much else at this point, have a good day everyone

    Haha Jackie!

I thought B had acupuncture a couple years ago and hated it? Am I thinking of another dog? Regardless good luck!

I'm totally spaced out this morning with tiredness. I opened the back door for the dogs to go potty and all 3 looked at me like what are you doing? This is not our normal routine. None of them went outside. I usually feed them first then they go out. Dogs and their food. I swear. God forbid you mess with their food schedule!

    I need a nap already.

    Morning all.

For the moment we have sunshine, but more rain heading in later in the day.  We got a good rain yesterday and more overnight.  We've been so dry lately that I'm sure not going to fuss about a bit of rain. Doesn't make it terribly pleasant being out working, but, I won't melt.

Hope everyone has a great day!  Off to get ready for work.

    Love the raining poop story!!

    Yeah for Deb's geek!!

We made Riley's cake pops for school tomorrow and the came out pretty good. They were soooo much easier than I had anticipated. The ones we made were about 2 inches in diameter so they are a nice piece of cake. I made chocolate cake dipped in chocolate with sprinkles. The next big thing is the regular bday cake.

In-laws descend on us Saturday morning so DH should start freaking out tomorrow afternoon about 4:00 - you can set your watch by it LOL

The weather is excellent again today but it's supposed to rain and get cooler for the weekend - excellent timing NOT. But I won't complain because the weather has been awesome lately.

    hahahahahaha....!

I thought B had acupuncture before too. I hope it goes well regardless though.

Good vibes for a fast day for you Jackie. Maybe a lunchtime nap will help.

I'm meeting a couple of horse rescue folks after work to discuss some collaboration on a few things. One joint venture is sharing a booth at the Horse Expo in early June. I am practically jumping for joy at the thought of helping to man the booth. I've wanted to go to that a couple of years but didn't have anyone to go with.

My best friend found out that her daughter's husband got a fantastic job offer with a company in Boulder, CO and they'll be moving in early June. They currently live about 2 hrs away and my friend goes there frequently to see her grandkids. It's about the only joy in her life and she's already heartbroken that they'll be so far away.

No we were going to try acupuncture in March but they then decided doing the steroid shot should happen first. Anyway, happily he tolerated it and only shook a few needles out. Not sure how I will notice if he's doing better or not LOL

It is finally a stunning day

I think that's what she means by attempting it - I think it wasn't successful the last attempt, because he was "not havin' it!"

Well, Boulder is a nice place to visit!  That is too bad, though, that she is so upset.

I was happy for the interview next week, and then I got another offer to stay on here, in another department, for another contract gig.  I've been telling them I am like some sort of disease - they never can fully get rid of me! :D  But it's good - working for the IT dept I worked in before I left NH 5+ years ago.  I like my boss a lot.  But there goes my plans for next week to clean out my storage unit!!!   ;P

Back to the grind.  Lots to do to prepare for 20 people from around the world arriving in the next 48 hours!

I've got a long list of pet peeves.  I was reminded of one this morning:  Why do people completely ignore No Soliciting signs, then get pushy when you tell them you're not interested in whatever they're selling?  Our office is one of several in this building.  There are two No Soliciting signs on the main door before you enter the lobby.  There is also a sign on the door of our suite.  These 2 idiots ignored all 3 of the signs (and our locked door) and kept knocking (that's what I get for leaving lights on in the entry).  I told them the owners were gone.  The woman asked when she could return to talk to them.  I was tempted to say, "Never.  Can you not read?"  Instead I said I know the owners would not be interested in Aflac insurance for themselves, and neither was I, as their only employee.

The raining poop story = hilarious!  I thought you were going to say something about a new species of bird possibly passing overhead, Jackie!

Paige, getting another contract offer must make you feel good --- that means they truly appreciate your work and enjoy having you there!

I went to bed with a major headache and woke up with it this morning.  Still got it now.  It's in the back of my head -- more like upper neck tension.  I wish I could get a head/neck/shoulder massage right now!  Or I wish I had one of Riley's cake pops to make me feel better!

I was going to go get ice cream tonight with a friend. A local farm is doing soft serve cones tonight for $1.00, so we figured we'd give it a try. I was feeling absolutely horrible earlier though, and decided against it because I was fairly certain I'd puke it up. Now, I really want it, and I'm debating going out for it. I'm figuring if I don't puke my dinner up, I'm good to go, even though I know dairy would be more  of a problem than pasta. But, it should be just fine, because earlier when my mom and I were at dinner, I at about 2 bites because I felt so bad. I just ate the leftovers, I am not starving, and I felt fine. The $1.00 ice cream is only till 8:45 though, so I have to decide soon if I am going.

That's pretty great that he handled it well Karen! I have mixed feelings about acupuncture. I hope you keep us up to date to tell us if it helps or not

.. Cathy, I love love love boulder. Bummer that it will be so far for them but maybe this will be am opportunity in the long run. A friend of mine at my last job is retiring at the end of this month and his daughter (with flgrandkids) lives in Boulder so they are planning on getting a part time house there so they can visit all the time. I'm jealous!

Today tested my people skills to the max. Sometimes it is such a struggle to not just be a total B! But no. You have to be reasonable and listen to other points of view.

The dogs each got exercised with the walky dog tonight. Neiko and I did about 2 miles before he slowed down and showed signs of being hot. The girls are both collapsed on the couch after only 1 miles each. neiko otoh is sitting here staring at me like is that it? Let's go again! his energy amazes me

Karen, I'm so glad the beast tolerated the acupuncture.  I hope it helps.  I was worried it might be like the attempt at massage therapy and you probably were too.  Good boy, Bugsy.  Loved the pic of that and the swim. :)

Tracy, hope your headache is better or at least tolerable.

Julie, love that your enjoying biking with your dogs. Neiko, that's it, bud.  lol  I sure hear you about having to be tactful when you'd rather be a B..  I've about used up all my people skills and tact this week.

    Can't remember anything else.

I'm relaxing with an adult beverage and DH has gone to pick up a pizza.  :)   Dogs are waiting not so patiently to play but they'll have to wait a little longer.

Oh Julie I am a bit envious, Bugsy & I loved biking! Good boy Neiko, more!

Jackie hang in there!! You are doing great!

I was very concerned that he who doesn't like to be touched wouldn't be a good boy but he was OK. I think the fact he swam & did zoomies first helped. Then of course he was completely insane for about 15 minutes in the acu room while waited for the vet helped too. The tech was laughing so hard, she was crying. I am not sure how I will assess whether its helping, he doesn't indicate pain/discomfort well and he never settled today afterward

It was so nice to have a sunny day
