Foggy Tuesday

Cathy, I've got a friend who bought herself a Kindle Fire recently and she loves it.  She actually said, "I feel like it's another appendage."  She's only used desktops and laptops until now.  She does a lot of reading and movie watching it with the Kindle -- and general web-surfing.  She said it was really affordable.  I guess there are different price points you can order, and some are under $100 I think she said.

Definitely cheaper than an iPad (although much different abilities, I know).  Having used DH's iPad several times, I have no interest in using a tablet regularly.  I hate typing on glass, and I feel like the screen is too small for any long-term viewing.  We've got 2 TVs in the house, so I don't need a place to watch a movie.  I prefer my laptop for typing all the emails I do.  If my lifestyle were different (lots of airline travel, a long commute on a bus or train, etc.) then I would enjoy having a tablet to "consume media."  But for "creating" it (emailing and writing things), I need my keyboard.

Anyway, I say treat yourself to one if they're really that affordable -- it can be an early anniversary gift, and your DH won't have to shop later!

I've had computer problems at work all day until my DH figured it out for me.  Love that man. :0

So much to comment on today.  Julie, I'm really sorry your sis is going through such a tough time with family concerning her son.  I agree that she's lucky that you've got her back.  The mood I've been in lately, I'd probably cause a big stink by calling the family members who are being idiots and telling them to butt out.

Sorry Charlie is still limping.  I wouldn't give him anything at this point if he's putting weight on it.

Tina, I'm on my way with a large piece of carpet and a shovel.

Bugsy's distance and speed are such good news. :)

Jen, sorry about your neighbors noise.  Earplugs maybe?

Cathy, glad you got the crown done though it sounds like it was not fun.

Callie, glad your mom is better and cooking. Vibes to scaredy dog Charlie.

Ginger, it's heartbreaking to see so many dogs needing homes.  I see so many posted on FB that sometimes I want to scream and cry at the same time.

Deb, glad you had a great celebration.  I'm off to look at the pics now.

I know I missed a few but good vibes to everyone.  I'm so thrilled to have my computer fixed I could dance on my desk.  That would scare the dogs so I guess I'll just dance in my head. lol

Oh yes, Sharon!  Good idea to take the manager job while still pursuing the university position.

I have a Kindle fire and love it for what I use it for. It's not really good if you are surfing the net. But for facebook, Words with Friends, and email, it's perfect. Plus it is awesome for vacations.

Looked Cathy and Karen it worked!!! Honestly, that's why I haven't been posting lately because I hated how my posts came out as one long paragraph. YEAH!!!!

OK DH and I are the worse parents in the entire world. We totally forgot about kindergarten open house tonight. The notice is on the frig and has been there for a few weeks. It just 100% slipped our minds. We spent the evening playing this Mickey game with Riley and a too lively game of dodge ball. Around 9:00 I ran up to the store and then it hit me right there in the Pasta isle. I was in tears. I can't believe we didn't go. Not the biggest deal in the scheme of things, but geesh.
