It's Wednesday right?

Pre-K senioritis is apparently when the model student decides she doesn't want to listen to the teacher anymore.  Mommy made her write an apology note.

Marty, I'm sure even minor discipline problems aren't very funny for the parents or teachers, but that really gave me a chuckle (I can laugh since I'm not a parent)!

And reading about all the poop strategies, texts, and celebrations is also humorous, since I'm not dealing with them directly!  Lisa, for a second I asked myself, "What the heck was she doing the iPhone to help the process??"  Then I realized she must've been playing a game on it to occupy her time.  I know people say iPhones can do everything, but I wondered if there was something really special I wasn't aware of!  Big Smile

Deb, will you be serving a special drink to mourn the cancellation of Fleet Week today?

I will try and console myself with a half-dozen of these:

    The Salty Dog

    Ingredients

    • Coarse kosher salt
    • Ice cubes
    • 1/2 cup vodka or gin
    • 3/4 cup fresh grapefruit juice

    Preparation

    • Pour coarse salt onto small plate. Moisten rims of 2 highball glasses. Gently dip rims into salt to coat lightly. Fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour 1/4 cup vodka over ice in each glass. Divide grapefruit juice between glasses and serve.

    My work here is done.

Yay for poop! -- and they sent my Mom home from the hospital too!

She says she's still feelig              yucky (but better) so they sent her home.

    • Gold Top Dog

Deb, that looks and sounds delicious!  Maybe not as delicious as what you would've seen at Fleet Week, but it's a start.

Glad to hear your Mom is home, Callie.  I hope the rest of her recovery is easy now!

    • Gold Top Dog
Yep - she plays a My Little Pony game on it to help pass the time. :) But who knows there is probably a poop app out there somewhere! LOL YAY for Sonja poop!! YAY for your mom Callie!

Great minds think alike, Deb! When I saw Tracy's post asking for a drink, this is what I thought of. I prefer mine with vodka. Gin is my enemy.

As an aside, you do realize the Marines are usually far better looking than the squids. Jes' sayin' (from experience).

All this drinking and pooping and sailor talk has me laughing.  I know it's not funny when your little ones are constipated but you guys manage to make it sound funny, once the pooper (or is it the poopee?) has pooped, of course.

Yes, three dogs zooming is very dangerous and we try to stay out of harm's way.  If they zoom when we're all outside (happens often) one of us will alert the other to find a safe spot and protect your knees.  The alert is something like this:  WATCH OUT, HERE THEY COME!!"  I am usually the one giving the alert since DH is mostly in his own world. lol

The meeting this morning went pretty well.  There were a lot of other contractors there but it was obvious that some of them won't be bidding.  A few of them gave us their business cards and said to give them a call if we got the contract and needed any subcontractors.   Most of the city employees at the meeting are department heads that we deal with daily.  We aren't allowed to talk to them (about anything relating to the contract) until the bid closes.  It was a little awkward since all of them came up to us and said hello and thanks, etc since we currently have the contracts for their departments.  The woman running the meeting was frowning big time at that.  We still have a ton of work and stressing to do before it's over but this was a big first hurdle and we found out some valuable info that will help us bid this contract.

Sorry to bore everyone with all that contract talk and feel free to skip right on past it. lol  It's a very big deal for me since a lot is at stake.  We'll survive if we don't get it but it will be on a much smaller scale.

A friend of mine is flying tomorrow. She's dreading the probable delays but she's a very seasoned flier and will not be as stressed as I would be.

OK, back to work for me. I do need to go look at Ruby and her toy first.

ah Deb that's a favorite of mine - it does need to be ruby red grapefruit though

    Jackie glad that went well

seriously laughing about all the poop talk even though I know it can be serious business

as for all this sequester BS - honestly what bugs me the most is the freaking politicians once again just saying "its their fault" "no its their fault"

Face folks, you are all idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's been some awful crimes around here lately - not random but awful nevertheless

DH thinks he has allergies - this is a five alarm alert situation. Apparently

I do some contract training on Wednesdays. Today was my annual review, apparently I am stellar and was awarded the highest pay rise they give (percentage wise) this was a 29 cent raise per hour.  Incredible ay? One has to love government jobs these days

Day 3 of no rimadyl for Bugsy and he seems fine. Very excited to think we may be done with it for a while.

    OK off and running again

You've got one of those too huh. I wonder if that mentality comes with the other boys parts.

So what are you going to buy? LOL After a few weeks you might be able to buy those pop tarts from yesterday LOL

Haha Lisa since the box that was left was smushed I should be able to get it straight away :)

Jackie I had to laugh at your comment that you have to sound the zoomie warning. Same here

Lisa, DH will be at the doctor soon as when he is experiencing discomfort IT'S SERIOUS. When my asthma is bad it's no big deal.

I already posted this on FB but Bugsy nearly fell down the stairs earlier. He decided to attempt his old way of doing the stairs which is to leap up them. Well his front legs slipped or couldn't do it (when he was near the top) and weren't strong enough to right himself so he was falling backwards. Fortunately I was behind him and changed his momentum so he didn't fall. Not funny
    • Gold Top Dog

Oh no, Karen!  How Bugsy can he get?  Thank goodness you were able to prevent a fall.  Sick DH?  Too many males that need looking after at your house. I'd schedule a trip away, asap.

I just read 'pop tarts' as 'poop tarts' thanks to all the poop talk lol! Pop tarts are now ruined forever..

I am glad to hear the poop has finally passed though. :)

29 cent raise, I would love that! My boss just told me today that performance awards have been nixed for the year which is such a bummer because he was hinting that i was getting it a couple months ago. (only one is given per office so it is competitive) . Figures. I worked my butt off this year!

    I'm so stressed.
