    Sunday Spring's Coming chat

Doug -- you have my most sincere condolences on the weather.  ewwwwww

Jewillee -- my work week has been SO like that.  Last timeI started dreaming about work, I told my boss that if I had to work in my dreams then I was going to make him pay me overtime or something.  He told me thjat was fine as soon as he saw the results of all that dream labor!  We both laughed but he "got it".   I mean hey -- is that dedication or what?

Somehow this turned into an insane weekend WAY more full of errands and "stuff to be done NOW" than David and Iw ere bargaining for.

Jackie *hugs* -- been there.  It took me a very long time after losing Billy to really feel like I was "dealing" with it.  There are no pat words ... no easy answers.  But we do all 'get' it ...

That's not a bad idea, charging ot for my dreaming about work :p i dreamt about it last night too!

Had a blast yesterday with the kiddos. We went to the health conference thingy (which was a dud) then went and found a great used bike for my oldest niece, then walked around campus checking out flooded river, then to the ymca where they went swimming, I worked out then we all played wolleyball (that was a riot) Then we came home and made signs to cheer my brother on during today's race. One nieces sign read "I will wash your car I'd you win" (he has no chance of winning) at the bottom of the sign it says or I will give you a hug for finishing.

Right now is the calm before the storm: before I wake them all up. The dogs are pacing from bedroom door to bedroom door in anticipation. Neiko is whining aboutit, like why aaren't they up yet? I feel for the girls as they won't know what hits them as soon as they crawl out of bed.

Off to start breakfast! Man I am tired!

wahoo just back from a 1.5 mile walk with B! he's asleep now LOL

Gorgeous day here, cool for the locals no doubt but seems great to me! I am going to rest, read the paper then tuck into some gardening.

I really want to go back to sleep. DH & I have both had a minor bug this week and I slept very poorly last night. Ah well

    Have a good one all!

Gorgeous morning here and will reach the mid-80s later.

Shane's agility class is at 10 and then I'll need to hurry home to drop him off and then head to my niece's lacrosse game. I wasn't sure we'd make the agility thing. He seemed super tired yesterday and if he hadn't perked up, I was going to cancel. He looks fine today though, so we'll give it a whirl. I really just want him to have a good time.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Sun is up, streets are dry. Time to take a town walk. I am thinking the depth of the mud at the WMAs is getting deep, and I am not in the mood to chase wood ticks on the hound.

Saw "Legally Blonde" at SMU last night. It's a musical. Another superb performance by talented people. The woman playing Elle was superb. She may just be the actual person the character was based on. Wonderful singing voice, great dancer. Nice to look at, if I had been paying attention. The actor portraying the UPS delivery man was carefully selected, but not for his dancing ability. An experiences professional actor and male model. Lots of deep breathing evident in the audience when the UPS man bent over.

I need a 6 or 8 inch planer-joiner, or a thickness planer, but wife says no. Drat. Hard to plane Hickory smooth and even with a hand plane.

Doug, a local theatre in town recently did Legally Blonde.  I didn't see it, but I've been to other shows there, and it's incredible how talented some of the "amateurs" are!

Julie, sounds like you had a fun day yesterday -- I'm glad sit-ups and push-ups weren't involved!  :-)

Cathy, let us know how Shane likes agility.  I just enrolled Ruby in a intro agility class at our shelter.  I'll be taking her, not DH.  Could be a fiasco -- she doesn't mind me very well, and she's pretty amped up in classes (way over-excited about seeing all the other dogs and wanting to romp with them).  But, the teacher knows me (and Ruby) very well and thinks we should give it a try.  It's only 4 weeks, so we'll see!

For those of you who read my thread about the email I got from a high school friend I don't want to re-engage with --- here's a funny update.  I never replied to her initial email (from Wednesday night).  Yesterday she sent a second one, and all it says is:  "Well, I hope your life is grand.  That is what you deserve."  She didn't even sign her name.  Guess she was annoyed I hadn't dropped everything to reply to her email in 3 days.  Needless to say, I won't be replying to this email either.  She sounds as self-absorbed as she was years ago.

We're going mattress shopping today.  It's long overdue (so says my aching back).

Its a really nice but cool day however I am completely unmotivated to do anything. I did about an hour or so of yard work and am now going to watch a movie LOL. I haven't just sat in front of a TV on the weekend to watch a movie in so long I can't recall. Everyone deserves a nothing day from time to time, right?

Since the weather has been relatively nice out, I've been getting Dodger to the park daily. Makes for more peaceful days.. Lol..

Karen, We all need nothing days!

Heck yeah!!  :)  Let me know how long that lasts today.  Wink

Tracy, I hope you and Ruby enjoy the agility class and Cathy and Shane too.  I almost feel guilty for not doing a class of some sort with one or more of mine.  Note that I said "almost". lol

Beautiful day here today and I'm getting ready to finish up the house chores and head out with the dogs for a romp.  DH is staying home so he doesn't miss the pre pre pre game shows for the first game of the Spurs vs the Lakers in the playoffs.

Doug, I wish I had my husband as well trained as you are.  :)

Not much going on here. The sun was out all day and I did get in some work in the garden. I agree with you, Karen--we all need a day off every now and then! I have a movie for later on, which I may stay awake for.

Jackie, I still get upset about Frisby every now and then--and it's been over 2 1/2 years. I totally understand. (((hugs)))

Doug, the mud sounds deep! My old springer would have loved getting totally muddy! She did hate the baths, though :-) Ticks--they're here and I really don't like them.

Happy belated birthday, Kate and Tina. Cake

How did Shane like agility? I can't wait to hear about Ruby's agility, too.

Sinbad's mad because the fence is up and he has been cut off from eating the asparagus as it comes up. He never goes near the asparagus bed until the plants start to grow in the spring, so I have to fence it off for a month or two. He loves his veggies, that's for sure! I do pick a stalk for him every now and then, so he's not totally deprived. (He would tell you otherwise, of course.)

Hugs for all who need them.

Do nothing days are great! Everyone needs them now and again. Glad you had a nice walk!

Tracy lol about the push ups and sit ups! Drat! I forgot all about it. I even warned them sat night we would be doing them in the morning haha.

Re the email... It sounds like you made the right decision to ignore the first one geez. That's a serious drama queen.

Kate, my garden needs work too! *hint hint* ;p

Today's marathon was fun. We hopped around the course and cheered my brother on 4 or 5 times. Then I raced up to sar training. Today was boat work day where certified or near certified dogs go out on the lake to search for a drowning victim. First time for Abbie in a boat. I thought she would freak over the motor but she did surprisingly well. At first she was like Hmmmmm.. And plastered herself against my leg but I ignored her and chatted with the boat captain and our other passenger and would praise abbie whenever she would look around. Once we went back to trolling and she got a wiff of dead guy she got up and started walking around the boat, sniffing the air, sniffing the bottom of the boat, whining a little (she whines when she has human scent). I praised her again and as soon as she stuck her head over the side and licked the air near the water I knew she had it. Sure enough she came and barked at me. Yay.

Neiko got to do some dock diving while we were there too and played with other dogs with sticks. Lily just raided pockets for treats. Good day had by everyone andthe best part, it was a sunglass wearing day!

Well you know it lasted ' a while', then my friend called who had an abundance of plants and wanted to know if I wanted some. Which led to me taking some, having to decide where to put them, planting a bit, checking all my veggie babies and thinning the herd ( I hate killing the little seedlings). Then of course it was dinner time and then it was time for cripple walk #2. Smarty pants has realized that if he only poops on walks he gets more walks.

I watched 60 Minutes which had some great segments as always but the one on military k9's was really good

Really gorgeous here today ... I think it may have reached  the high 80s.  I went to a local restaurant (Caffe Italia) with DS #2 last night and there was something very new on the menu. Big Smile It's a "romantic take-out balsamic steak dinner for 2" that costs $5,195 .... because it comes with a Vespa.  Your order your dinner and Vespa, pay 50% up front and in 6 to 8 weeks you go pick up your Vespa and take-out dinner and pay the rest.  Somehow I don't see a lot of people ordering that one.

I had big plans for pulling the patio together this weekend, but all I managed to do was raise the water level on the pool.  "sigh"  Maybe next weekend.

     Finally getting in for today.

I'm done with this damn cough. I just coughed up some wonton soup. Now won't be eating any of that again for a while.

We found a ball Luke can catch from the team box. Of course, the ball he chose, we only have 8 of. That will cover a race, but barely. I'd like to get half a dozen or so more. However, it seems like the ball he picked, it's not really sold anywhere anymore. A friend thinks they used to be at Party City, but not anymore. There might be something similar, but maybe not. I ran around to 3 stores today to try to find it, because I didn't know at first that it was probably a stress ball. It looks like a neon yellow baseball (and they also come in green) so,I was thinking this was some sort of baseball. It also looks similar to a practice baseball thing, so I thought it was maybe that. I found what I thought it was at store #3. Luckily I did find it in person, rather than having it shipped. Of course though, my dog would pick the ball that isn't available anywhere. I'm going tomorrow to see if something might be similar enough to it.
