I just got this and wanted to share it -

This email is to thank Jody, Judy, Jeanette and Kathryn and anyone else at Homeward Bound who had a part in our adopting Maggie.  She is an angel from heaven and is the reason Bill is alive today. On Saturday morning October 20th we were getting ready to bring Maggie to her training class with Kathryn.  Bill took Maggie out for a walk around 7:30 a.m. to go potty before we left for her training classes at Homeward Bound.   As the events were told to me: Bill collapsed on the wetlands trail that runs along the side and back of our home.  It is a beautiful place to walk a dog.  He regained consciousness, got up and headed home.  Half way up the side trail by our house he collapsed again.  Maggie ran up the trail, around the corner, and ran down our block until he found a neighbor who was walking his dog.  Maggie encouraged him to follow her and she lead him down the block and turned and ran down the trail.  He turned onto the trail and saw Maggie about 60 yards down the trail sitting next to Bill.   Bill was unconscious and the neighbor came to our house and told me to call 911.  Bill regained consciousness again and Jim (the neighbor) put him through the tests for a stroke and he passed all of them.  The ambulance and fire truck arrived and he was rushed to Sutter/Roseville Hospital.   I arrived at emergency and they had just taken Bill for a Cat scan to see if he had any head trauma from the wounds he received during the falls when we heard an alarm.  Bill had flat lined for the third time.  They kept him in that room and I was able to go see him.  He was doing pretty good and we were talking when he flat lined again.  I had to leave the room and they worked on him and took him immediately to surgery for a St. Jude's Pacemaker.  They could not put him under because of his weakened condition and operated using just a local.  The surgeon came and got me in the waiting room and I was able to go into the operating theatre to sit with Bill while they were preparing his room.  I was informed that he got to the hospital just in time. Our wonderful new dog Maggie saved his life.  I probably gave you more information than you want to hear, but we are so happy with the outcome that would not have been if it wasn’t for Maggie.  We plan on being back at class on Saturday to finish the beginning course and start the intermediate class on November 3rd. We Sincerely Thank You,

Jen, I was confused by your post about "Lush" --- I thought you were referring to drinking or something!  Then I figured out it had something to with a store that sold things with heavy fragrances, not alcohol, right?

this is the lush I was talking about

    http://www.lushusa.com/

It's like cosmetics, soap crap. It smells like bath and body works, but worse. They have tons of stuff that just sits out open, bath bombs, big bars of soap, etc., so  it smells far worse because Bath and Body Works just has the testers, and they aren't completely open. Last time I went to that mall, I ended up leaving the store and going somewhere else while the people who wanted to shop there bought their crap.

Aww cathy, that made my eyes well up with tears! I love dogs :)

I was confused about the Lush reference too lol. I was like lush? Does she mean lust? She is in lust with her mom? Hahah no, that can't be right.

I got to enjoy the weather for about 10 mins today during the walk to and from lunch. I should have scheduled a field day for today!

I am very skeptical that this relaxation protocol I am working on with abbie will do any good. I just don't see how it will help in the long run. It seems so situational. How does it teach the dog to relax in stressful situations? But, I am trying it anyway. I am just not a believer yet.

I am sitting through the most boring webinar ever. Well, all webinars are boring actually. It is not limited to just this topic. Zzzzzzzzzzz. Hence, being here reading posts via my phone

Lisa, get stick on velcro for the cuffs.  You can cut the ears from black poster board and stick those to a piece of narrow black elastic (also with velcro) and I'm pretty sure you can just buy a cat tail.

Cathy, what a wonderful story!  Dogs are just great.

Busy, busy week.  No signs of slowing down either.  I like being busy, but this is the first time I've taken a break since 7:15am!  Looking forward to getting home, making some spaghetti with meat sauce, and relaxing.
