Super Sunday Chat!

    Super Sunday Chat!

Actually, not really all that super for me. I'm still feeling a bit off from last night, but not horrible, so I should make it through okay. Luke on the other hand is very excited. I told him last night he has flyball, and he needs to get up early, so he did. It's a bit too early to go yet, so I made him come back to bed for a little bit. I need to go print some stuff for work, and get myself ready so I can get him out the door on time.

I was up until 2:30 last night then up at 7:30 this morning. I am getting oo old for this.

I did get a bunch of stuff done yesterday though. Cleaned all the crates, threw a couple away, and stored some others for future temp fosters. I put my bikes in the basement which means biking is officially done for the year. I cleared out a bit of my spare room which I was using as storage. It is amazing how much stuff a person keeps thinking they will use it again one day. That is never really true ya know? Anyway, I have 2 computers in there that I need to clear off and recycle. No idea when I will get to that. Laundry got completed too ezcept for my big blankets. I need to find time to hit the laundry mat.

Today is another search. So I better get a move on. Have a good sunday all.

Boy the weekend is just rushing by, as usual.

I got most of the laundry done yesterday as well as cleaned up the gawd awful messes my son makes in the garage on a regular basis.  This is Ryan's MO though....I ask repeatedly for him to clean it (or any room) up and he delays, gripes that I "nag" when I remind him, and his will is a bit more iron than mine.  I reach the point where I simply can't tolerate the mess and the inability to find anything long before he breaks down and just does it.  And then I'm ticked that I had to do it.  Been 6 weeks since I first asked and in that time it's gotten so much worse that I just couldn't take it anymore.  The garage is our "3 season room"....where we smoke, etc, so I really don't like dealing with it cluttered.  Give me dirt any old day...clutter terrorizes me because I have to find a place to put it all.

Just now finished putting together 25 packages for vendors for a Bridal Tour that's coming up....there is a kickoff brunch today so need to scoot out and drop these off for the vendors before the event starts.

Kind of dreary today, but so far at least, it's not raining.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day!

Up early to see DH off to work. I need to pick up some groceries, so I'll do it early before it gets crowded.

I woke up with a plugged ear again. Very annoying. It happened about a month ago and took a day or two to go away. I took an allergy pill, so maybe that will help.

Windy this morning and rain coming in tonight and lasting a few days. I sat outside yesterday evening and felt sad about not being able to do that much more for the next few months. Some of my plants and flowers are looking like they have no idea the weather is changing. Even my Hibiscus is blooming like crazy.

Gorgeous here - this is how October is meant to be!

Bugsy has had a busy morning - his usual friend came by and then about 10 minutes after she left another friend came by. His usual friend doesn't play too much so he was super happy to see is little goldendoodle friend.

DH is back at killing the shrubs

Cathy those red & yellow flowers on on their second round now - lots of new ones have sprung up - I was wondering if you had any survive?

I planted some camellias in early summer and am thrilled that both are blooming

I took a nice walk, did a bit of cleaning and am now relaxing. We are off to a fabulous SPCA event later - always a fun day. It is essentially a block party in a trendy downtown area. You get free beer and wine with your entry fee, there are bands on, contests for the dogs, lots of food trucks, all the businesses allow dogs in and have stuff set-up for them and there are a ton of sponsors/displays. Last year was a bit too hot but today should be perfect. I love how happy B is at events like this, I don't love how he always winds up pulling on the leash hoping to run around and visit.

Last year a golden won the costume contest - it was dressed as a cowboy - totally fabulous outfit

I had a few sprouts and then all but one died and it wasn't exactly thriving. I almost took a picture of it a week or so ago and sent it to you for a giggle. I went outside one evening and it was like something just chewed it off. I could see the nibbled off stems at the soil line but that was it. A day or 2 later, the whole thing was gone Sad I'm not going to toss the soil and maybe they'll come back in the spring?

I have a few Camellia bushes and love them!! Mine haven't started blooming yet but when they do, it's a mass of color and really nice when everything else is dreary looking.

I googled ear plugs and hearing loss and lo and behold, I found what is likely my problem. Apparently, when you push the ear plugs in, you force air into the canal. When you pull the plug out, it can cause a drop in pressure in the outer ear. They suggest jiggling the ear plug before pulling it out. The hearing loss is only temporary, so that's a relief but there's no remedy for it because it's not the middle or inner ear. It just has to resolve on it's own. Oh well, I'm just glad to know what's going on and happy that I can probably prevent it.

Cathy, I envy you being able to grow camellias.  You guys get your water from the Sacramento River and we get ours from wells and we have a really high mineral content ... so no camellias or azaleas for me unless I'd be willing to get bottled water for them. Sad I'll consider myself lucky if the hostas and salvia come back next spring.

It's super overcast and cool today ...  looks like it's going to start pouring any minute.

Luke ran his first flyball tournament today, and he has two ribbons to show for it. Further details later, cause I'm actually working.

Just running by to say hi!  We had a great day at the beach yesterday.  Gabby decided to try and drink the ocean dry. :(  Explosive diarreah soon followed.  She's fine now.  Twister had an absolute blast and I'm so glad we took him.  I don't know how many more trips to the coast he'll be able to do so I really soaked up a lot of priceless memories watching him enjoy himself.  Big Smile

I just got back from visiting my cousin in the nursing home.  I'm trying to eat a sandwich and type.  Not good for the keyboard. lol

Lots and lots to do before the day is over and all I want to do is be lazy.

    Congrats on the ribbons Jen!

Oh my Bugsy loves a party, so many butts to sniff, so little time lol

A stunning day and wonderful event, not as well-attended as previous years but very enjoyable.

Cathy I think the camellias are early, I presume because they are just babies :)

Jackie I am so glad that everyone had a fun trip, but especially Twister

Well, we had a set back with horseback riding today. Riley MELTED down about not wanting to go. I wasn't going to force her, since the last thing anyone wants is a hysterical girl on a horse. I tried to get her to explain to me why, since she used to LOVE riding Dolly. Well, it sounds like when they trotted last week (we have just been walking) it was too fast for her. I tried to explain that they don't have to trot until she's ready but she wouldn't have any part of it. I think we are going to take next week off as well so maybe when we go back she won't be quite so upset.

Oh, bless her heart. I'll bet that was scary for her. I hope that a small break will give her the confidence she needs to try it again. As much as I love horses and riding, I totally understand the fear thing and have to fight it myself.

Well KittyKitty is missing I wanna scream my father let her out I told him so many times do not let her out for some reason when he lets her out she takes off she has been missing since this afternoon. I let her out the other day but just for 30 minutes she stayed in the gate when I let her out she don't go no where. It will be a sleepless night for me right next to my house is the woods, she's in there somewhere. Wish KittyKitty home thanks :( If it's not one thing its another....
