How sweet. :)

Now try saying "I hate you" in the exact tone of voice and with the same facial expression and see if he wags his tail. Wink

I do believe that dogs learn what some words mean through attrition and training (lets go for a walk, sit, here, etc) but I think in casual conversations (that sounds very odd but you know what I mean) with our dogs, the words are not as important as the emotion expressed when speaking the words and the facial expressions and body language we exhibit to the dog.

bwahahahahahaha oh yea he was exhausted from swimming and just wanting to collapse but I don't think that was a factor

Well, we already know Bugsy is a Duke grad and smarter than most dogs. :) I tell my dogs the most outrageous rude things and they just stand there and wag their silly tails. Stick out tongue
