    Fall is here! (saturday chat)

No question about it. It is not supposed to get above 60 anytime in the long range forecast. It looks like my fridge died over night. It is new too! Pos. I just put a family pack of chicken I bought yesterday too that I was planning on individually freezing. I need to figure out how the warrenty works but no doubt nothing is going to happen on a weekend. I prob need to fill up my cooler to at least save my condiments. What a way to start the weekend, Tracy your puppy is so cute (from the other thread).

Yuck Julie, I just saw that post on FB. Can you throw the chicken in the oven and bake it? At least you could nibble on it for the next couple of days that way. I hope you can get someone to look at it today.

High of 78 today - woohoo!!

I have a lot of house cleaning to get done but first I need a lot more coffee. I hope everyone has a great day.

I don't think so. There's no telling when the fridge died and it is pretty warm in there. :( I just looked up when I bought it and I am 3 weeks over the one year warranty expiration! Can you believe that? Of. Course.

Julie, I'm sorry to hear your just out of warranty fridge died.  It's so hard to find a decent appliance these days.  A friend of mine has bought three freezers in the past five years and each one lost a compressor just out of warranty.  Just about every compressor for small domestic refrigeration units are made outside the US and many are just junk. The run and start capacitors are often the culprit as they too are mostly made overseas and we see these five dollar parts fail, sometimes after only a few months. I hope whatever is wrong is fairly minor and you can get if fixed Monday.

It's nice and mild here with a nice breeze.  We took the dogs for a run at a friends property this morning.  Tired, happy dogs laying around the house.  I'm off to do some shopping as soon as I get motivated.  Must get moving.

We have a GE side by side and bought it when we bought this house 11 yrs ago. We'd never had a problem until last year when it just stopped cooling/freezing. As crazy luck would have it, my BFF's husband works for GE and the last time I'd visited and complained about the ice maker jamming sometimes, he'd sent me home with the equivalent of the mother board. The ice problem hadn't been bad enough to worry about, so I'd just stuck the part away. When I couldn't get a repairman out (also a Saturday), my friend's DH told me to try replacing that board and it solved the problem. He probably saved us hundreds of dollars in repair work. I wish he were near you and could help. The way he and my friend are getting along, I doubt he'd help me these days though. It stinks to have things like this happen but why does always seem to happen on weekends??

Ugh Julie I am so sorry! I hope you can get it fixed quickly and without too much cost.

My computer is really being weird lately - I am really good at keeping it healthy so I have no idea what it's issue is! I totally don't want to have to do a clean install Tongue Tied

I took B kayaking this morning and was super pleased when DH turned up - so I swam the Beast a little more and let DH take him so I could do a proper paddle. Bugsy wasn't completely exhausted so when I paddled off he was crying and trying to jump in. I swear his wiring is just off somehow. I suppose whining is slightly more tolerable than barking, but it is annoying. Anyway it was a gorgeous morning and I enjoyed some lake time on my own.

Speaking of DH, we've been trying to figure out a storage solution for the kayak. I don't want to hang it and hoist it all the time but they shouldn't rest on their belly. So I have it rigged so it is now off the belly but only just. I asked DH if he could make something from pvc pipe that would simply sit under each end (so two things LOL).  He is a natural engineer so about a day later he said how about if I make this blah blah blah - and his idea is amazing! It will even have wheels so I can roll it out of the garage Big Smile He came back from the lake and has been researching parts and making his design. Love it!

I intend to not do much else today - I've cleaned the garage, did some gardening, cleaned the inside of my car and done the food shopping. Time to relax and enjoy the breeze

We may have just passed Fall. Piper and I just got back from a run at the WMA. Something hard and white and very cold was bouncing off my coat. I actually turned the furnace on last night, after noticing that sweater, wool socks, and blanket still left my shivering. Might explain why the cat was so affectionate, though.

Thanks for the good wishes, guys.  It was super painful when it happened, but I chose to go home and ice it instead of hanging around the ER for hours.  The doc said it started to feel better over the course of the week because it was healing, but not healing properly so at some point it would have all exploded apart and I would have wound up needing a hip replacement. All I've got to show for it is a 3" square bandage high up on my left leg, since the fracture was in or near  something called the ball joint. I've always been a "hop out of bed, hit the shower, run a comb, dust on a little blush and hop into my clothes in about 1/2 hr." girl so taking this incredible amout of time to get myself ready in the morning is insane. And in addition to the pajama pants, I'm wearing my "oh so fashionable" purple crocs because they don't have to be tied or buckled. Max is doing very well at getting out of the way of the walker.  He seems to know I'm not going to be hopping over him. It's gonna be a loooong 4 to 6 weeks I can tell you. This weekend I'm going to be showing DS #2 how to broil a steak. *snort*

No one told western Washington its fall. Stick out tongue 75 degrees and bright bright sun. Family from California is visiting and they just Adored Tootsie and fawned over her. One cousin said shes so small. Yeah, shes not fat! The other one said she'd never seen a tri-colored Corgi. I guess the red and white ones are pretty popular.

Okay, everyone just needs to be really careful so we don't have anymore broken bones. I can't believe that as klutzy as I am, I've never broken anything.

I went on a big (for me) shopping trip to Marshalls. I found the black riding boots I'd been looking for, 2 pairs of dressy sort of skinny jeans and a really cute sweater. I was giddy when I left but also feeling guilty. It's been a long time since I bought so much at one time but I loved everything and the prices were very right.
