Wonderful dog story

I am SO glad to see the follow-on to Schoep's story -- this man has been thru very difficult times with this dog and credits the dog's loyalty for helping HIM stay straight.  I was tickled to see the original story -- and the point he made about "It's time I took care of HIM because he's always taken care of ME".

It's such an unusual thing to see -- even among the biggest dog lovers among us -- so often folks feel compelled to put a dog to sleep to 'not put them through that' -- but sometimes old age is JUST old age.  A time to take it easy .... because you can't take it any other way.  And going beyond the normal stuff (even among dog lovers) to give this dog a peaceful end to his day just touched me on a very deep level. 

And now to see that this man (who is NOT wealthy) has started this fund so that other dogs can get similar help? 

There will come the day many years from now when among this guy's most peaceful and best memories will be of taking this 19 year old dog "swimming" every summer night in Lake Superior.  And he shared that with ME.

I'm so glad to see this update.  I loved that story when it first went viral, and I shared it with so many people.  Even without reading/knowing the story, that photo says so much and really touches your heart. 

How awesome that the story has brought so many good things to all involved -- to the man, to Schoep, to the photographer, and to all the other dogs who will be helped because of the fundraising that has happened since.

 I also saw the initial posting on FB, and appreciate seeing this update!  I'm pleased they got the treatment because those lakes get COLD in winter, ha haaa, wouldn't be soothing for doggie nor owner. 

I've heard good reports from many dog owners on this laser treatment for joints, so glad it helped Schoeps.

That photo is awesome

Awwww that is so sweet.   Just saw our vet yesterday he was in our office.  He is having great success with a stem-cell procedure.

Oh, I am such a softy for senior dogs. What an absolutely sweet photo and story.
