My sweet boys can be really rough on the floors, that would be human and furr :).

Hehehehe.  Yeah, our kitchen is a high traffic area that gets abused pretty regularly.  I have all fall and winter to soften (or beat into submission lol) my significant other into this idea.  The way I look at it is:  I'm the one who cooks the vast majority of the time and spend the most time (overall) in there.  Therefore I should be able to do what I want *pouts* Stick out tongue

Good angle and then there is .....Plan B.....  Well I just cant stand to spend anymore time in that nasty kitchen...either you will have to cook or we can just go out everynight.   Stick out tongue

Actually my Plan B is to just rip up the floor and stain it lol.  Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission right...?!?! Devil

Good plan.  Don't stain it right away and just keep whining about how horrible the concrete looks and keep wondering out loud how cool it would look stained. :)

Other DIY projects I now what to tackle over the next year:

Painting my ugly as all heck kitchen counter tops (saw a paint kit called Giani Granite that has good reviews and looks pretty cool!)  Figure that would be a much less expensive way of fixing them versus replacing them altogether.

Paint my cabinets (that will be time consuming, they will definitely need some sanding down - plus taking them down and putting them back up lol)

Fix the grout in one of my bathrooms.  It looks like crap and in some places just crumbling all together. Of all my DIY projects I want to try to tackle, this is probably the easiest.

Just checked this out at Lowes yesterday.   Looks like it's do-able at my house too.   I primed my lower cabinets last weekend now I just need to put the paint on.  I have white so I will probably go back to white...boring...but my kitchen has a kinda black/white and red theme and I like it so ......

ETA: used a small smooth 6" roller and it made the job quick and easy.
