    Saturday Chat

The cool front is gradually moving in and we've got a nice breeze this morning.  Hopefully we'll get some cooler temps tomorrow.

Yesterday Gabby alerted me to a tomato hornworm.Surprise It took me forever to spot it but I knew there was something on the plant because of her actions and finally found it.  She wanted to eat itIck! but I didn't think that would be a good idea.

I'm off in a little while to help a 4 month old GSP get to her foster home.  Good thing I'm over my limit on dogs. :)

I hope Karen posts the picture of her holding one of the baby turtles she released.  I saw it on FB and it is the cutest little baby, ever. :)

Those baby turtles were off the charts.

Riley and I are heading to the zucchini races this morning.  It is cool here and I am way to excited to put on jeans and a sweater.  It will warm up by this afternoon I am sure but it is nice to get a little fall in the weather.

The push has started for us to get ready to leave.  Today and tomorrow will be the big cleaning (for some reason I feel the need to scrub the house for my dog sitting sister), then the list making and last minute cooking for her and buying last minute forgotten stuff.  I also have to convince the pharmacy to give me Riley's meds a few days early so my mom won't have to worry about it when we are gone.

ONLY THREE MORE WORK DAYS LEFT!!!  WHOO HOO!

A sticky day here, but we have a good breeze, so that's helping. Off to quilting in a bit. Can't wait to see the baby turtle picture, Karen.

Have fun with the puppy Jackie. I can't think of a better way to spend the day.

Lisa - I'm not only excited for your upcoming vacation but can't wait to hear more about Riley's riding lesson tomorrow.

DH was up before the sun to take Shane for a walk and then headed out for a bike ride down by the river. It's a gorgeous cool morning, so it should make for a nice ride. I need to go grab some groceries and do a little cleaning and then I have a hair appt.

The last few mornings DH has walked Shane, they've come across a skunk and a few times there's been one right out front eating the bird food on the ground. I'm so thankful that they haven't scared it enough to spray.

Brr! Like clockwork, the fall air blew in the weekend after labor day. It is a beautiful day though.

I am on laundry duty today since I haven't been able to do it in 2 weeks.

My team did a search today (I didn't go) and was able to bring closure to the family. There's a lot of mixed emotions that goes on in this type of situation. I am anxious to talk to my teammates that were there.

Wow, are we getting the rain.  A bit cooler and rather humid, but the rain falling does help that a bit.  Our neighbor had two HUGE maples taken down yesterday.  Apparently the cutting down is inexpensive, it's the taking it away that costs dearly.  So, he and DS are cutting it up as weather permits and we have scored several cords of wood.  Too cool!

I've got to dodge the raindrops and run the errands that I didn't have time for yesterday.  How exciting.  Not.  Luckily, there isn't a huge lot to do, but I'm not thrilled to spend any part of the weekend shopping.  Or any day for that matter.  Oh well.  What needs doing, needs doing.

Off to play in the rain!

I'm beat. Went grocery shopping, Safeway and Trader Joes. Then went to Big Lots and scored a new area rug! Then did my weekly cleaning. Phew...
