Jan, that sounds so odd to me. The hours are different for all the schools here, and they stagger them basically so that a bus can do a run for high school, which starts first, then a middle school run, and an elementary run. Then in the afternoon,  they repeat that plus the late buses for the high schools and middle schools. We even got them to add an extra late bus when I was in middle school  because it was too full. All it took was a few days of kids sitting in the aisle and being yelled at that some kids had to get off and we got another bus.

100% worse if it was just overcast and rainy - THAT WOULD MAKE ME CRAZY!
      Don't come here!

That's exactly what I was going to say!

Whenever I tell people here that I miss the New England winters, they say, "Oh, I couldn't stand all that cold and all that snow.  At least you don't have to shovel the rain here!"  My reply is always the same:  "I'd rather shovel snow under a brilliant blue sky than try to get the damp chill out of my bones under a grey one."

     Don't come here! :)

Agreed on both counts.  I can stand New England and Colorado winters (and Colorado was even colder than NH) because the SUN SHINES!  But Washington is dreary in the winter, and they don't really know how to deal with snow, so it's treacherous, too.  Not ideal.

Still recovering from the show, totaling up expenses, etc. Oye, what a job!

Dobe Rescue reunion picnic is this weekend.  Going to be weird not to have Gracie's brother and father there.
