    Sunday chatting

DH is having a great time removing the baseboards and carpet tack strips.  He's convinced himself he needs a few more tools to do the job right.Surprise Saving money by doing it yourself, oh yeah.

He who dies with the most toys--WINS. He will need a good power miter box to cut the moldings neatly, and an air compressor and nail gun to replace the moldings properly. Really can not do the job properly without the right tools. And beer.

I just finished my lesson plans for my first two weeks...now, if only the copy machine will cooperate on Tuesday. (It usually dies in time for the start of the school year.)

I've made 1 1/2 batches of the King Ranch chicken so far (did a 1/2 batch as a test)--that recipe is great! I used chipotle pepper instead of chili pepper. Totally yummy.

Doug, your apple crop sounds great! Those are good pie apples, right? Our garden really took a hit from the high temps/no rain, followed by 3-4 inches of rain all at once, then more hot/dry/no rain. I had hoped the cooler temps would help, but I think it's too late. We've had watering restrictions the whole summer.  The tomatoes and peppers are pretty much shot. The beans, leeks and kale are still doing OK. The weeds, of course, are thriving!

OK, off to do laundry and figure out what I'm going to wear this week.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure my husband will win. :) Jackie - I'm glad your husband is enjoying the project. I can't wait to see pictures of your new tile. I guess it's the weekend for projects around the house. DH decided to use my elliptical yesterday for probably only the 2nd or 3rd time ever. I'd complained about a creaking noise it was making for the last year or so but apparently it was more than he could stand. After some online research and about an hour of tinkering around, the creaking is now gone. Yay!!! I'm heading out to HB to help with the reactive dog class. Hopefully no dogs will try to eat each this time. I forgot to mention my other omg moment at the vet's on Friday. A customer was standing near me and Shane was sitting politely waiting for a pat on the head. I told the guy that I'd been working really hard with Shane on not jumping up. He said "yeah, I had the same problem with my golden too until I knee'd him in the chest a few times and then he stopped". I just stared at him and couldn't think of a thing to say.

Lol well no job is complete without 5 trips to home depot

Why is it whenever I type in a number on my phone then his space, the phone inserts some randome word that makes no sense. Stupid auto correct.

Today has been a pretty good waste of a day so far. I did a little bit of house keeping but mostly just read a book. Yesterday I at least got out with a friend and tooks the dogs for a hike. My family was going to the beach today to bbqthe and foolthe around but since I can't go swimming, I turned down the invite. Kind of a bummer but I don't want to be miserably tempted.

I think I will take the dogs out for a hike and maybe see if the cider mill is open.

Lets not let the guys have all the fun.  Keep the jewelry and give me power tools.

20 cu foot deep freeze defrosted.  Four loads of wash washed, line dried, folded and waiting for someone else to put away, dogs bathed, bathroom returned to some semblence of order...WHY tiny white tiles for the walls and more white tiles for the floor??  Finally got around to snagging myself a yogart.....breakfast at 4p???  Now I'm gonna take an iced coffee and sit in front of the fan for a few with my feet up.

Kate, your garden and mine could be sisters.  Unfortunately, same here with everything.
