I was watching the news earlier about NOLA and heard something rather unsettling.  I had no idea that Sacramento is the second most flood prone city in the country, second only to NO.  Apparently if the levees, dikes and flood gates ever give way,  downtown Sac will be 20 ft. under water in a very short time, and since we get our storms in the winter that means the water will be freezing. Hopefully they're keeping the levees in good  repair, but I suppose one good earthquake could knock them all apart.
