Not much going on here except work.  School started in most districts this week and I'm hating the extra traffic. Makes my fifteen minute commute almost 17 minutes.    All the school districts are begging for bus drivers as most people with commercial licenses are driving trucks for the eagle shale oil fields south of us.  I guess they prefer making big bucks to driving a bus full of kids.  Imagine that? lol

Good bet, Deb. I was working, but didn't bet or see the race. I did, however, have TVG on Sunday evening and in some claiming race at Delmar, there was a horse named Vodkatariat. I immediately thought of you.

 Heading out to the airport to pick up mom soon. B will be so glad to see her................however he is entirely up my butt because I took the suitcases out. He is such a little worrier at times LOL

It is repulsive weather here again, woke up and couldn't see out of the windows. Hoping Cancun will at least have a sea breeze to move the humid air a bit. The UK people set out this morning and then had a 6 hour delay at the airport, now have an 11 hr flight and the rumor is that check-in may take up to two hours at the resort. Count me as happy I am not traveling with them and the 3 kids ages 3, 3.5 and 6.5 

That's it really - Oh I hate iTunes. Not once has it just opened up and been ready to run, I've removed it and replaced it umpteen times, keep it up to date etc but it never runs smoothly. Hate. My next phone will not be an iPhone (yes I know I may be the only human on earth that doesn't LOVE their iPhone, sigh)

Karen - I hate iTunes as well.  I love the simplicity of my phone but iTunes is the devil.  I don't do music so I don't have to worry about it too much.  DH has literally had strokes over it especially when he switched phones.  I just walk away.

Not much going on here.  I ordered Riley's helmet from horse.com.  They were about $10 cheaper than local and they had the right size.  We don't really have any farm supply stores by me so it worked out great.

The ocean does create a breeze; however, it's still muggy in Cancun.  I don't even do my hair at all when I am there.  I just pull it back in a bun knowing it won't be completely dry again until we get home.

 I'm dreaming of warm muggy ocean breeze and sun. It sounds so nice :)

The weather is pretty perfect here though. The windows are open and there's a good breeze going. 

I live for telework days. Every office/business should allow these. You guys have no idea what it does for moral - well you probably do since I post about how much I love it every week ;p 

I got an award at work while I was out sick. I didn't even know about it until I got an email saying an award had been added to my personal file. Nobody told me! I guess they had some award ceremony while I was gone. Bummer that I missed it. Regardless, it is nice to be recognized even if I wasn't there and nobody told me about it after until I asked. ha. My boss said "oh yeah, congratulations! You're doing a great job". *men*

Our office admin has sent 10 gazillion meeting requests today. I have to open up each one and accept it. It's making me crazy.

Cathy, if you get on the Trader Joe's mailing list, they'll send you the "Fearless Flyer" every month or so listing all the yummy things they have for sale.  I've already marked at least six things I want to get.

There are three huge trucks on my street.  Some kind of work is going on in the middle of the block and I hope whatever it is doesn't make the power go out.

 Add me to the list of iTunes haters.  DH usually has to do anything involving that program for me, b/c after 45 min of getting no where I'm usually ready to throw things.  I don't think it is very user friendly at all, and I don't understand half the crap it says.  I doubt I'll ever buy an apple product again after the 2 things I have are ready to be replaced.

 after trying on and off since my earlier post I give in - the contacts on my phone are right, the ones on my iPad are incorrect. It has been nothing but a freaking hassle and I have never hated a piece of software more. I do feel a bit better for sharing that though

Mom is here - I have gone over a bunch of stuff - Bugsy is acting like a fool - i sure hope he calms down

Lisa I envy those Italian markets - we don't have any around here and I miss them! Of course we have other markets and lots of farmer's markets but I miss my Italian stuff!

If you ever need anything, just let me know.  When we lived in Milwaukee my mom used to send me stuff to keep me going inbetween visits home.  Do you know that you can't get fresh gnocchi in Milwaukee - its a PITA to make so I used to have her send it to me along with these amazing Sicilian olives ;-)

Where my brother lives, south of San Francisco, they have amazing Italian markets. They also have great farmer's markets and some of the best fresh fish markets I've ever seen. If I won the lottery, I might like to live there :).

We had a big staff meeting today at my office, so all my coworkers that I rarely see flew or drove in. It was really fun to see them and Shane adored all the attention. He was much better than I'd anticipated but a couple of people actually enticed him into jumping up on them or barking. It's almost time to head home and he is completely zonked out now with his pink tongue poking out.

Karen - I hope you have a great vacation and Bugsy and your mom do just fine. Be sure to take a lot of pictures.

 Thank you to the cashier at PetSmart who opened a second register and booted out the guy who took advantage.  I was next in line, and she made him wait.  That does not happen often...
