    Announcement (Liesje)

I haven't been on here as much lately since things seem slower than they used to be but I wanted to let everyone know that my Pan is moving to Tennessee next weeks along with my very good friends (a couple).  There have been some issues with Pan's "fit" here - none that really warranted "getting rid of him" or anything like that - but my friends have made me a great offer and I feel it is a much better fit for Pan.  He will still be doing Schutzhund and flyball, which was very important to me.  He'll also probably start agility and possibly be a demo dog for his new owner who got a great new job training detection dogs.  Pan is already used to traveling several times a month with my friends (we all are in the same clubs and enter the same events) and is already best friends with some of their other dogs.  It will be a very easy transition for Pan but I'll miss him a lot.  Luckily since we are good friends I will get to keep up with his progress, but since they are moving a few states away I won't have to worry about seeing Pan constantly and feeling like salt in a wound.  His breeder is on board with this decision.  Pan will be with a dog owner and a dog training community that can better help realize his potential, and he's also a perfect temperament fit for what my friend needs right now in a new dog.  Right now I'm just spending time with Pan and not focusing on his training as much. Yesterday he came to work with me and said "goodbye" to all his office aunties and uncles.  Thursday night I had my friends over and Pan got to play in the yard for four hours with his new dog family.  Anyway, I don't want anyone to feel bad for Pan or I, this is truly the best thing for everyone and I am confident in our decision but I just wanted to let people know.

Good for you for doing what makes the most sense for everyone involved.  I'm sure you'll miss him but knowing you'll see him often makes it easier.  I've sold dogs that weren't right for me and though they were missed, I never felt I'd made a mistake in putting them in homes that were a better fit for the dog and the people.  Bye, Pan. Enjoy your new life, handsome.

Best of luck, Pan in your new life. Also. Liesje good for you giving Pan the opportunity to be able to reach his full potential.

A difficult decision, no doubt, but how great that you have people you know who can help Pan realize his potential.

Oh handsome Pan, I know that your mom wants only the very, very best for you so wherever you are going is going to top notch for you!

Hugs for you Lies, I know this can't be easy for you

Pan, you gonna live with your play date pups!  Sounds like fun!

Liesje, much as you put a positive spin on it, you are gonna be sad the day he leaves, and for a bit after.  Don't worry, that is normal -- you'd be weird if you didn't get sad over this!  Sounds like you have thought things through and this seems like a good move.  Well done!

I wouldn't say this is easy for me, but it's a lot easier knowing he's going to a great home with my good friends and it's a perfect fit.  I'm spoiling him rotten this last week.  We're also doing a little photoshoot before he leaves, so I can get some photos with him and some video of all the things I'm most proud of training him.  We just got back from a long walk/fetch in the park and we stopped and said "goodbye" to my parents.  My friend's mom (who doesn't live with or near my friends) is already excited that they are getting him, if that's any indication of how nice a home he's going to!

Good for you Lies, and good for Pan.  Letting a dog go to a home that is not only a better fit, but one where he will truly be able to shine at what he's really good at?  That rocks.

This is a situation that really benefits everyone, but I'm particularly happy for Pan.  Not only to be welcomed (and he obviously already likes everbuddy) but to go into a life doing more of what he loves?  Wow -- that is wonderful that you found such an incredible solution to something that wasn't a horrific problem, but you recognized he could do *better*, Lies!  Yes

Good luck in your new home Pan. Lies, any chance he'll be in NAFA now instead of U-FLI? Not that we ever head out that way, but I'd love make excuses to meet more idols through flyball.

Good luck Pan in your new home, it sounds like a good one. Liesje it takes a responsible and caring person to make a decision like this, Good for you. I’ve known people who just cant or wont make that decision and both suffer ( not in your case ,but I know cases like that ) for it.

That takes a lot of heart doing whats best for Pan.

Saying goodbye is always the hardest part, even if it's just for a little while or for the better. You were both lucky to have known eachother and my boys and I wish all of you the best of luck!

Good for you Liesje for making an unselfish decision that is best for Pan.

I know you will miss him -  personally will miss the flyball videos Big Smile

I read your post and thought of a parent that would have to make the decision to send a child away to camp/school so they could reach their full potential.  (((HUGS))) to you!
