    Saturday chat

Oye had a very bad night with insomnia - feel run over but lots to do. I tried to go back to bed but Bugsy just stood there staring at me, nosing me (checking if I was dead I presume) In fairness to him I am rarely in bed past 6:15

I didn't finish my list yesterday so I need to do today's stuff and make time for some of yesterday's stuff - no weekend break here!

I am resting quasi modo today - I am starting to think it might be his wrist and I'll send the ortho doc an email today even though they won't get it until Monday

Cathy I appreciate the offer for the levothyroxine/soloxine - I sent you a message on FB

Hoping mindless chat can be mindless today

I am only sleeping in 3 hr intervals because that is when the pain meds wear off. Funny how my body automatically wakes up at that schedule.

I had a dream that I was on an air plane that started to dive (crash) right after take off and we were in france so I couldn't understand what was being said over the speakers. That was a pretty horrible dream! I woke up before we hit the ground

1 more day of the corgi from hell. She peed on the floor last night. Guess how happy I was about that. Since she never stops barking there's no way to know that she had to go outside.

Obviously, I am a bit grumpy today.

We were out later than usual last night for a birthday dinner.  What a long wait we had and that was with a confirmed reservation.  They did give us a complimentary bottle of wine.  Not a big wine drinker but several of our party enjoyed it.  I ordered a salad and calamari.  The salad was great but the calamari were overcooked to the point of rubber.  Not good.  Since my tummy wasn't feeling that great it was probably for the best. We all had a good time.  We slept till 7:00 which is super late for us.

Off to a new vet clinic with Belle this morning.  She's due for her rattlesnake vaccine.  I hope I like this place as I'm not going back to my previous vet.

Julie, I'm so sorry you're not better and had such a tough night.

Karen, I hope you get a lot accomplished.  It will be interesting to hear what the ortho guy says about your conclusion.  Has he seen that video of quasi modo?

LOL Julie - you have ever right to be grumpy. Ugh!! Oh, and the meds might be causing the bad dreams. I've had trouble with that in the past with some pain meds. Are you still on for the surgery on Tues? Is it outpatient surgery? Wish I was close enough to help.

Went out to dinner with DH's sister, her husband, his mom and BIL's mom. DH was working, so he missed out on some great food and fun. SIL gave me a really beautiful necklace as a retirement gift. She's always so thoughtful.

Driving home, I got caught up in sobriety checkpoint. I wanted to turn off a side street like many were doing but only to avoid the wait. The thought made me feel guilty though and I had nothing to worry about, so I stuck it out. It was frustatingly slow though and seemed odd that they'd have it at 8 PM vs. later at night but I appreciate the effort. Anything that helps keep drunk drivers off the road is a win in my mind.

I too had insomnia and it didn't help that we had thunder and lightening in the middle of the night. If we got any rain out of it, I can't tell this morning but it does feel cooler. I'm going to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and take Shane for a walk. I might even wash my very dirty car.

I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Yup he saw that before he saw Bugsy :(

Julie I would be pure evil if I were experiencing all that you are!

Good luck at the vet Jackie

Cathy i should wash my car and clean it out.............waaa my list is growing!!

They are doing a bunch of sobriety checkpoints here too - announced it on tv the other day. Typically they aren't in the places that it would be more useful.

DH & I are going to a party tonight. It's in the woods and there are six bands playing; DH is in two of them. Everyone (hopefully) is camping. Unfortunately there are supposed to be scattered showers tonight, and the low is 45! Brrrr! Not sure if we're going to set up the tent or just sleep in the Suburban.

Julie - I'll second what Cathy said -- one time years ago I was on pain meds for something (back when I was a brand-new newbie homeowner) and I dreamed my house split in half and fell open.  That was high on my list of worst nightmares ever but in retrospect I'm sure it was drug-induced.  If I were dealing with what you are I'm not sure I could handle it.

Janice, that sounds like a lot of fun! Stay warm!

I don't think sobriety check points are allowed in MI. I remember hearing once that they weren't and I have never seen any. That must be an odd thing.

We don't allow camera enforcement either. We take driving however you want to very seriously in this state apparently ;p

I took the dogs to the play ground and tossed to frisbees around until abbie layed down. I figured that would shut the corgi up for 10 mins after. I was wrong. It only lasted 5. I think she doesn't know how to play with other dogs. She entices my dogs to play with her, bounces around and play bows but as soon as they engage her she goes ballistic snapping and attacking, basically freaks out. My dogs don't know wth to do. I kind of feel bad for them when I should really feel bad for the corgi because she seems to live her life with nothing but fear and anxiety.

I have only taken 1 pain med today which is awesome. The swelling is going down in my left ear and while it has gotten worse in my right, the pain hasn't come with it. It just itches like mad. I can live with that. 1 more day of rest then monday will be a flurry of activity. I am opptimistic that by the end of tomorrow I will feel tons better and maybe by friday I will have some hearing back.

I have a friend coming to stay mon thru wed to help get me through the surgery stuff so I need to get this house cleaned up. With 4 dogs and me being under the weather it looks like a tornado came through. A tornado that left piles of dog fur in its wake ;p
